View Full Version : Floormat Attachment Peg
Doctor Bob 09-22-2004, 01:53 AM Guys-I did a search but could not find what I was looking for. I think someone else was missing floormat peg? Anyway the driver's floormat gradually gets pushed forward due to no fixation of floormat. Is there a TSB for this-I did not see it listed. Anyone else have peg missing?
Thanks,
Bob
Gord96BRG 09-22-2004, 02:09 AM It's not a TSB - the peg was provided with your car, and was supposed to be installed by your dealer in the pre-delivery preparation of the car. If you don't have it, it's because your dealer screwed up and took shortcuts on the prep. All you need to do is go back and bitch about the missing peg, and they'll have to find one and install it, no charge.
Regards,
Gordon

Art Hazebrook 09-22-2004, 10:58 AM I found mine in the glove box and tried to attach it with a small right-angle phillips head screw driver...without luck...what a pain!! It looks like you have to remove the darned seat or have a small drill/driver that can do a 90 degree angle between the handle and the (screw) driver end. Makes me wonder how the dealer does it...

IIRC, it was about a year ago I had the same problem. The thing (screw?) does have a phillips head but it does not screw in, it pops in, just push it down. And, yes I also tried the 90 degree screwdriver, it does not help. I also had a problem with it coming out after a couple of days, after replacing it 2-3 times, I wrapped it with scotch tape, and it had now held in place for about a year.

Great info...I'm off to the garage... :D
Thanks!! Art

Tell me about it. Even though I don't have a passenger all that often, the mat rides up like crazy - I have to readjust it every few days. Maybe it's because my wife is stomping her imaginary brakes over there whenever she rides with me.
Maybe a strip of velcro would help. I'll give it a try and report back.
rotary-blue 09-24-2004, 11:16 AM I am missing that peg also, but when I went to the dealer they said they are talking to Mazda Canada for a solution to the mats. Either they are lying or they have no clue. Can someone please help me get the missing peg? :)

I went to my dealer yesterday for oil change and mentioned missing peg. Service writer asked if I had looked in the car for it. Replied yes but not found. He cheerfully ordered on and I will have installed when in. Go to different dealer or speak to service manager.
