In other non-news, the status of my order hasn't changed at the dealer ; but the 2004 RX-8 little mailer card / folder is out at the dealers - it has a few decent pics of the car and dash. Obviously was printed before production as the 250HP was stated as the goal or provisional.

I went on the 19th and got to sit in the red one. The titanium one they also have there is locked :/. I would of taken pictures but we already have 5000000 pictures of every nook and cranny of the car :D.

So they have 2 there and are letting people sit in one? Cool. Hope it's still that way on Wed.

I went yesterday there was a line to sit in the red one. I spoke to someone there and they said it'd be available in 6 weeks. I went to the auto show to really decide which car I was going to buy this summer and the rx-8 triumphed over everyone.

Since my son just graduated from High School last year I've seen it all now. I don't think you'll scare me too much...

Don't laugh guys but I was considering the Cadillac Cts, New Nissan Maxima, Honda Accord coupe, and Audi a4.
What really did it for me was when I was looking at the Nissan z and I realized that I'm a sports car man.
But the Z is a 2 seater and I need a back seat. So I went back to the Rx-8 looked at it in Titanium and Velocity and that was that.

Well i went on wed. as planed and well let me lett the pictures speek for me. Sry i couldn't find u TJRX8,

I was there between 1:00 and 3 or so. Looks like you you wearing a coat, I was looking for the Billabong shirt. :) The cars looked great didn't they? When I get back to Florida I'll try and post a pic of me sitting in the red one if it came out ok.

I went this weekend...I'm so damn glad I put a deposit on the car. Out of everything there that I can afford, including the GTO that I was thinking about if the RX-8 didn't make me happy, the RX-8 is by far the best looking. The Winning Blue swatch looked really nice, and while I couldn't see it in decent lighting, I picture it to be exactly the blue I was hoping for. It also turns out the blue is nothing like the blue on the Protege, which was a definate plus because I saw the Protege blue and hated it.

All in all, I'm glad I put my money down and now I hope the test drive goes well too!

Hopefully if all goes well in July a Winning Blue, 6 speed, Touring package will be coming home with me.

edit: oh, and the trunk was surprisingly well sized for the car's size. And it has sub woofer possibilities while still leaving some room for groceries! AND the dip in the center is a perfect place to mount an amp or two and cover it up so it doesn't get destroyed when you use the trunk. AHHHHHHH, I'm a happy camper!

Few questions: How did you like the looks & feel of the Black/Red interior? Nothing like seeing live & up close. Don't know your height and build, but was it comfortable enough for you? I'm 6' and about 220.

well i sat in it too, but if you don't want the advice of a 16 year old then don't read this. However ill answer your question, the red interior isn't a saturated red like seen in most of the pics put out buy mazda. Instead it more of a toned down red kinda like a NON-metalic red without a clearcoat exterior, also after seeing the cars red interior im set on all black for a more mature look.

That's what I was trying to say after the L.A. autoshow. The red leather does NOT match the Red Mica paint. It would look much better on a Silver or Black car.

I am originally from NY, so I used a visit to the family as an excuse to go to the show...or vise/versa. I did like the red/black interior but not real sure about it with the red exterior. Hard to tell for sure with only inside lighting. I agree with Polak on the color combos...for now anyway. I didn't like the brown/black interior too much either. I am glad I chaged my choice although it might look good with the black exterior, less contrast.
As for my size compared to you I am a little guy (5'10, 160) so of course there was plenty of room for me. I checked out the back seat also and felt the same. Of course I'll never be back there unless riding in my friend's :D .
Closing I'll say it looks more sporty and sleeker in person.

PS: I'll be driving mine way before you too :cool:
