Since a brand new 2004 can easily be bought new for about 1000 under invoice, I'd guess about 3 grand under that figure.

I'd imagine the values are going to be different depending on where you live. Either way, the 26k figure needs to be thrown out window, because a car just like yours brand new can easily be found for 24-25k. KBB is completely inaccurate, and will remain that way until the 04 model is completely gone, and the 05 is readily available. As long as these cars continue to sell at invoice or below, one would have to get lucky to get anywhere near kbb private party value. 21-22k might be a more realistic number for what you can expect to get for your car. Unfortunately, this is a bad time to try selling your used rx8, because the demand is not anywhere near the supply. Good luck!!
