install one of these on the rx8? is it pretty straight forward, or does it involve some sort of replacement of sensors?

I think there's a connector underneath the steering wheel that you can hook up to read various sensors on the car. One could use a cheap PDA to store and show various stats. And maybe give an alarm when something is out of tolerance...

Unless you are going for the cancer pod look on the A pillar... It's just another gauge to distract you in the canyon roads.
