which one will give you more attention, the 8 or the bettle convertible?

The 8! I have checked out the Bettle Convertible, it's nothing fancy, it's pretty crappy actually :P

people look at you in your vert bug and go "nice bug"

people look at you in your 8 and go "what's that?" then you open the door let the back passenger out and people go "whoa" then you give them a ride and they go "shouldn't you shift? it's not good to rev a car that high, my dad's cousin's wife's ex-boyfriend's boss's nephew's corvette zed06 redlines at 6.5k" hehehe

The RX-8. most definitely. The Beetle is "cute". The RX-8 is different and new, and looks much nicer. IMO.

I don't know how anyone can see out of the Beetle with the top down. It creates this huge hump in the back, and unless you're 6 ft tall (which I'm not) I can't see how you can see anything behind you. It would drive me completely insane, as I'm one of those weird people who not only uses the mirror, but also looks behind me before I change lanes, etc. I've sat in it three times now, and even with seat adjustment it was causing me issues- even the rearview mirror wasn't much of a help.

...why ask?? RX-8... that Beetle convertible is as homely-as-homely-gets... god i can't stand that thing... it looks even worse than the boxter does in profile...

the Beetle actually might get you more attention, but the "oh my god, it's ANOTHER beetle... but with a drop-top", as opposed to "hey what was that blue/red/titanium/black/yellow blur??"

Two words... Chick Car.

It's a resurrection of the Rabbit convertible the "hey, look at me" girls used to drive. I don't expect to slide behind the wheel of one anytime soon. Besides, the wind turbulence would blow the petals off the daisy in my bud vase. Can't have that happen, can we?
:D

I don't think people would be able to go slow enough it get a good look at the bug.:D It is one of the slowest modern cars on the road.

I just test drove a Beetle with my g/f and its a pretty hott chick car. I've got a 2000 VW Jetta VR6 and that thing scoots, and the Beetle only had the 115hp 2.slow engine, but I was impressed. It's a very refined VW interior, giving you all the luxuries you'll never need. I think it will be a winner all around.

The 350Z is coming out with a convertible later this year -- I don't think the Z has reached it's peak yet.

but i guess the bug has reached the peak of its popularity and novelty that they had to introduce this convertible to keep people interested

not for me tho. personally i like the cabrio, especially the late 80s and early 90s models, better. more original. tho they're so slow it's hard to get those wind in your hair...

speaking of the 350z roadster. i think the coupe looks better
