I don't have any *good* pictures, but I'm around. I love the green, and with possible exception of Ti, it's the best 8 color out there! Seeing it in bright sunlight is a sight to behold. And it doesn't look too shabby in the dark either.

they are bronze, not really as dark as the gunmetal or black but they seem to work with the green. here are a few more pics...

You're right. It wasn't until the last picture that I could tell they were bronze. The light has to hit it just right. They look great.

I've got my green, let it stop raining so I can get in cleaned up. I just put the chrome gas cover on, still saving for the wheels. I like this thread. They treat us Greens like red-headed step children!!

i got them from a guy in san fran. he had them left over and couldnt sell them because they were bronze. i think i paid $800 for the set (tires were a different story)


i dont know how good they would look on any other color but green but they have the same kind of sparkel to them like the green paint. i couldnt be happier with them.

I like the Nordic Green all right but, maybe, should have been lighter a bit, or a litttle bit yellowish green like old F1 Lotus IMO.(Miata had that green, I think)

The Nordic Green looks almost black from a distance or when dark. My carbon lips and side skirts are not painted, leave as carbon look. Made the contrast, some may don't like...

Sorry for the late reply, was on vacation. Yea, originally from Maryland, now living in Philly for my 2nd year. Lots of 8s around here, not many greens though. When I say lots, I mean I've seen like 5 in the last three months.

If Strato blue was available then, I would have gotten that though. I've always preferred dark colours on sports cars.

I just came across this thread and I want to join as a green owner. I love the green when it is clean. Back in the fall of 2003, when I had to decide which color to go with I first wanted to see them all to avoid making the wrong decision. To see a green, I had to wait an additional month after I had seen all the other colors. It was holding me up and could not place my order. It was a hard wait but I do not regret a minute of it. I was secretely hoping that it would be a nice color because I wanted to buy it for its anticipated rarity. When I finally first saw the green in the showroom, the decision was immediately made and my order was placed. The result is what I had hoped for: a rare color that I like so much.

I'm new to Mazda, but have been a long-time "hesitant-to-own" fan of the rotary.

As of Saturday, I now have a nordic green RX-8 w/navi, HID's, etc. It's bone-stock, now, but definitely not for long (I'm quick to mod). I have the Mazda-Speed body kit on the way from Takakaira as well as some black Volk GTCs and HKS exhaust from MVP, and Greddy Turbo kit and Tein basics from Intense.

I can't decide on what to go for next. I love doing things for the appearance, but getting spanked by a new GTO the other day kind of made me want to work on the performance side of the house. I put the chrom exhaust covers on, expensive for not much enhancement. I need the fender strakes, and I've thought about the MS Bodykit. Sorry, just rambling on about nothing. Cobalt - Next: First and foremost - lower the car! The Torque 5's turned out well. Now lose that wheel gap. For around $300 you can improve the car's handling and the cars looks by doing so. Report back to us with the pics when you get it done. :D

PS - The strakes will look HOT also - Just another couple hundred - No biggie. ;)

Is the Nordic Green on the 8 the exact same as the Green for the FD?

No--the FD color is Montego Blue Mica--I use to have one, it was more of a color changing color than the Nordic Green Mica. In certain lights the Montego Blue had a deep blue color to it, other times it looked black or green.

Well I guess they turned out good, what did you use? I like things with a little more color. At first I didn't even notice them, but they are definetly cleaner. Have you thought about getting some clear corners? they really change the look of the Green. Keep us posted on any other mods you do. I'm getting the bug again...lol

Panoz was a little more of an open course, with a little more track time. However, NASA was more informative and a learned a heck of a lot more about high speed driving.

Hi, Nordic has been dropped here inthe UK, i had a struggle to get one when i ordered mine in July 2005. I finally opted for a factory order, to my suprise they ask what combination of leather i wanted, so i went for the Black and terrocata/tan. i finally picked up my 8, 4 months later and wow! is it popular. I'm not sure if it is unique or one of many, but i hav'nt seen one since with the same combonation.

I don't have a good picture but I bought my Nordic Green RX-8 August of 2004. I really love the color - depending on the lighting it can look anything from Black to deep green, to a deep rich blue green. (we live just up from the beach so maybe the light off the seawater brings this out).

Right now it's been sitting in the driveway for a week due to icy and snowy weather. When the Potenza's wear out, I plan to replace them with some all season radials to handle the snow. I've seen some posts referencing tires that are just as good in summer and still handle the bad weather. Right now with the Potenza's driving in snow is an "adventure" That's what we have the Outback for :-)

I drove a MS6 a few weeks ago..they are very nice! Nicer and faster than my buddy's A4 at 10k less. The one I drove had a sweet tan and black leather interior. I wish my 8 had those seats!

Before my 8, I had a Mazdaspeed Protege (spicy orange babeee!) which were numbered. I called mazda and they told me I was 847/3000. It was cool...not sure why but I felt hella excusive or like maddash says...like a old school muscle car :rock:

Thanks I love them. I went with the reserved +43 offset. I purchased them back in Decempber and it took until March to get the center caps. The 19s have a solid center cap which is different from the smaller TE37s....

You can't have anyone wash your car (like Mazda) because the wax spray and certain soaps can stain the wheels. The dont have that clear coat like the LE37s do.

They are bronze but much more of a soft gold than the CE28s which are pretty orange bronze comparatively.

wheels it sure does look slammin.
maybe u should consider getting the center part of ur rims bronzed out,
and leave the lip silver.
i think that'll give the car a lil more agressive look.

To tell you the truth, i am thinking about painting the rims and leaving the polished lip, i just need to make up my mind on the color, because i want it to flow with the rest of the car.
I could go with nordic green to match the car, but then that might be too much green, i could go with gun metal to match the accents on the MS body kit, which im really thinking about, also could go with bronze, bronze looks mean on dark green. we will see what i decide to do.

the number of NGs is a lot smaller than others since it was discontinued. you don't get a lot of new people showing off their car b/c it's usually when someone buys new or when someone adds a mod.

i made a thread earlier about what tire sizes i should be running and what people usually run that makes them rub. for the fronts ill be fine with the usual setup but for the 19x9.5 back ill be using the 265s as opposed to the 275s that rub.

Hey anyone have any pictures of a nordic green rx8 with stock rims and red painted calipers? I like the stock rims too much to get new ones, but I was interested in painting my calipers red, and would first like to see'em before I decide whether or not to do it.

Also, a friend of mine who races mazda's said that the stock rim painted black was nice. Thoughts? Pics?

Dunno how "temporary" it really is, though. I am almost sold on powdercoat over paint, too. blah blah blah... I still don't know what I want...

Powdercoat is the cheapest way to go and its clean if you get the right shot to do it. Nrider89 (http://www.rx8club.com/member.php?u=21295) has his powder coated black. Hit him up and Im shure he will post a pic of his wheels.

I've been told I drive a black car, a blue car and a grey car (yes there is a shade of grey esp showing in bright sunlight). Even the dealer put down black when I brought my car in one cloudy morning... LOL.

There comes a time in a mans life where he has to decide on rims, after looking around for awhile and not wanting to spend to much money, i have came across these, i think that the gun metal will go good with the green and i plan on powder coating my strakes and accents the same color. im glad i went with a bronze color. i wanted gold (various advans),but thought it would clash to much. these are pretty decent. in the shade they are low pro looking with out being the typical black on blah blah (the first color you think of that goes with green). in the sun they shine bright enough to give off a nice contrast.

its actually pretty funny to look at your car from different perspectives or times of day and have it look totally different because of the green paint changing colors & the rims changing too.

I have a 2004 green RX-8 and love the color. Same color I had with my first Colombia Bike. I have not driven it since May 22 when I broke my ankle. Supposed to be okay by next week. To late for this weekend's Chin event at Homestead. You do not know how much you love a car and the way it handles until you cannot drive it and are being hauled around in your wife's SUV.

Hi everyone...I got my NG back in June but this is the first pic I've put up. It's an '04 base manual that only had 10,500 miles when I bought her. I've slowly been working on her with the help of the comprehensive diy section here. I've installed Morel speakers, hardwired my V1, put in progress sway bars and the mazdaspeed rear strut tower, swapped in redline mt90 in the tranny, installed clear side marker lights, and, of course, put on the Mazdaspeed front bumper :) Once I let my bank account recover from that last item, I'll probably be looking at new suspension set ups as well.

Thanks for the feedback! I actually like the look without the side skirts...it's a little funky from some angles, but I think it looks good overall. Plus, if I got the side skirts, I'd hafta get the rear bumper; and if I got the rear bumper, I'd hafta get rims; and if I got rims then I'd DEFINITELY hafta lower it...it's a slippery slope I guess. For now, I'm happy basking in the knowledge that I get to drive a rare car, in a rare color, with a rare bumper :)

i don't know that the MS bumper is rare ;) but it's still good looking and very clean. i think there's someone else on here with the front and no sides (mysql maybe?).

For the guy who asked a few pages back, the car is on stock springs with Koni shocks and a Mazdaspeed front sway bar. 18"x8" SSR Comps with 245/35-18 Kumho V710 R compounds.

The first three pics are from SCCA Nationals - my co-driver took home the last trophy, while I finished worse this year than last (20th this year vs. 13th last year). Oh well - there's always next year!

Thanks for posting all the pix. I bought mine last week and I'm looking for ideas on what type of wheel to buy. I was thinking of chrome and black but after looking at all the pixs, I'm thinking all chrome now. I've got to put on a spoiler too. I'm lovin this car! I think NG gives the blue RX8 a run for the best color on an RX8. Any NGs in Western North Carolina?

Here's mine

Stock w/30k mostly highway which is you look closely means way too many nicks/chips. Post-first claybar with megular cleaning but pre-first Langka/Zaino treatment and mods. I'll put that up in a couple weeks. :)

This color never looks the same when you photograph it. You really need to see Nordic green in person to appreciate it. Here's me in my first autocross with the RX8.

Very Nice. I love seeing the MS Kit on the green.

Wheels are the only 'appearance' mod that's going to happen anytime soon. Everything else going on is out of sight (intake/sways/springs-shocks). Wanted to do the MS kit this year but wheels/tires got bumped up and the kit moved back. Sometimes driving this car in certain scenarios makes you change your priorities...

Also thinking you might want to paint it something that gets a little more attention then NG. Bright orange might work well for you. Or chrome.

Thanks. I hadn't seen any others out there tho I'm sure there has to be someone with an NG with RPF1s.

Not 100% sure my springs will work. There's not a whole lot of clearance left and even with just the small drop the of the htechs it might be too much. Either have to wait to get some smaller tires (I think 265's would slip under the fender) or go with different springs.

Like the rest of the car the wheels look great in some lighting and just good in other lighting. I'm still thinking that gunmental wheels tend to work better with the NG stock. When the green isn't as green as it is in this picture the wheels look a little more silver than they look in these pics. I may end up changing out the fender vents to something more metallic to help the wheels blend a little more in all lighting. But you can't beat the performance.
