I looked at it yesterday and just decided that it was the normal Nordic Green Mica Chameleon Effect (tm) that makes NGs look black, gray, blue, yellow, and pink fuchsia in different lighting (some of those were jokes but most weren't ;)). But that isn't NG unless your camera is completely screwed up.

Pretty sure Bumble Bee hit it on the head with Phantom Blue. What year is it? NGs were only made in '04 and '05. I don't think they pushed out PBs until 2007 but I might be wrong about that and it may have come out in 06.

i dont know how well it was taken care of, it had 4 owners and 35k on it...but i got it with no chips or scratches or anything with the exception of one of the window rubbers being ripped ever so slightly. You never really know when you buy from a dealer

Guys, I just now stumbled across this color on the early RX8's and it looks interesting. Since I'm looking around for an '04 to buy, I might open my search up to this color even though it's rare. Do the pics pretty accurately show how it looks (some colors look a bit different in real life)? It almost looks gray in some pics.

i like this color just cuz its so rare. its definitely a green in the sunlight but at night its looks more black.

This is my baby NG is the only color for me When i first saw it I instantly called the guy selling his 04 GT w/ lether and heated seats and only 27,000 miles on it for a grand total of $12,500 :D honestly the best deal i could have asked for one owner now two and never wreaked and never smoked in im keeping this until it dies for sure

CGRX8- Both look well-suited for the NG. Did you paint the second set yourself? Where did you come up with the NG paint? I've been toying around with PS, and have almost decided to darken my wheels to about the shade of your set, just not green. I like your look, though... Makes me reconsider... Hi, im Alan from college station TX. recently picked up an 04 rx-8 and couldnt be happier. Ever since i got it, i look forward to driving, and hell, even gettin stuck in traffic. Hey fellow NG owners... Need your thoughts on rims. I'm considering both the 5Zigen FN01r-c (bronze) and the Tenzo DC5 ver.1 (bronze) rims and was wondering if y'all had any opinions or strong feelings on either one?

I hav ethe 5zigen's on mine. Dont have a really good pic on the computer showing them, but the bronze does look good. Makes the car look alot cleaner also. This is the only pic i have being that i am here at work but i think these would be the way to go.

Going to add data to the associated DIY threads, including measurements, but if you want to see what a $180 set of springs does, here is one option. According to the boards, the front and back both have to settle about another half an inch.

Thats the same suspension setup i want to go with on mine. I think it makes it look good but nothing to crazy on the drop. Plus, i have hte R-Magic front which really likes to scrape the way it sits stock.

04 Green... looks good so far, another 1/2 inch will look good... $180 u say??

Oh, and the exhaust is Forza Tuning (i.e. OBX-R) with an RB Supercat. It sounds respectably nice, although I get hesitant to tell people what it is out of fear of flammage. It's actually an incredibly nice exhaust for the price.

yeah I had the OBX straight pipe on my 8 for a bit, wasnt too bad just the fitment was off by 1/4" was really a pain to deal with.

Did they update the obx catback the last time I saw it the tips were shorter and melted the shrouds.

REALLY?!? Wow. I have absolutely no issues with mine at all. I guess I got lucky.

I'm not sure why they would have changed it. Mine are the PERFECT length. Fitment for me was 10 of 10. Although, when I bolted up the supercat, it did extend the overall length of the system. The supercat is a bit longer than the OEM cat, so it consequently pushed everything back a little bit. Other than having to bend up the heat shield so the muffler didn't rattle on it, I have no complaints. Even with the OEM cat, the length seemed perfect. Hmmmmm...

well i didnt get the exhaust system only the mid pipe. The fitment was off when it was paired with my JIC Titanium exhaust, which ultimately broke :( was such a sad day for me.

That straight sucks! Believe me, I know bad days with this car. Today happens to be a good day, finally.

hah yeah, the main thing is that catback system retails around 2k ughh. So I guess its time to save for the stainless catback and leave the stock catback on for a while.

Spring brings a bodykit (MS probably), forced induction, an integrated sundress remover, and loades of pure hotness. Some wheels spacers wouldn't hurt, either.

You should replace your shocks when you get new springs as well. Best three options are Bilstein HD's, Tokico D-specs, or Koni Yellows.

I took a few more pics, same location and angles. It's crazy how different the paint looks in different lights. That's why I LOVE this color.

Hey all! Im new to the forum, and thought I should join since I just got my Nordic Green RX8! :) I think the color is so original and looks great. I just ordered all of my lights, (interior) and will post pics after this rain storm passes by.

I was able to get some free time now, so I figured I would put up the pics I took. My car is filthy and be kind, this was my first attempt at spraying my emblems, and there are a few noticeable flaws. See the pic from the passenger side of the car showing how I was a little over-anxious peeling on the "Mazda" and the "RX-8." I do plan to re-do once I get some more free time.

I love my NG, if i get an 09 or something else, it will be Nortic Green, just love it. Don't see it every day like others (no phun or hate towards the others,, I was very fond of Jet black (my gsx was black) I need to do a buff and wax, i bought the stuff, just havent gotten around to do it, and found that around my spoiler its starting to bubble so i need to get that addressed before i really do anything.

I dont know if I would do strakes. If you're going to do it, I would go with aluminum. IMO, I would lose the chrome door handles too. Sure, they match your wheels, but they stick out like a sore thumb. As far as side markers go, I'm still using the ambers. I'm not convinced that clear or stealth look any better.:rolleyes:

Yeah the handles have been on for a long time. I've been meaning to sit down and try and get that 3M tape off carefully since they are just covers but just haven't had the time yet.

I just looked at my picture and noticed that there is some weird glare on the handles, they don't stick out like that in person, but I'm still looking to take them off though.

I debated whether to go w/clear corners for a while before I finally pulled the trigger.

I chopped this together by dominating the photo in favor of red and barely tweaking the saturation level. This is pretty close to what you can expect. To me, it doesnt say "Christmas" but I think it will depend on the red you go with.

On a side note, I'm thinking of using dark chrome treatment on my badges. Has anyone done this yet? The wife is out of town, so I'm all about the car this week. Today I started to put the clay to her. She looks about 70% better, but she's still got 70k miles on her, too...

@ Chip: I have no issues against clear corners, I just dont feel that they would look any better. Plus I would have the quality drop switching from OEM - so its like trading one eyesore for another. I'll chose the cheaper of two evils;)

I think its either an all-or-nothing scenario when covering tails. If you start cutting into the vinyl and leaving more exposed edges, you're going to have a lower quality covering. If its the back up lights you want, there is a company that makes an LED liscense plate that is pretty nice.

if you have enough energy to do it again for me could you also make the part left without red tint little brighter? it looks smoked in the second attempt.

Actually, that's about right. It would be the equivalent of spot of missing tint on an old van window. After looking at this, I'm kind of in the same boat I was in with the corner lights. I know that it will look different, I just dont know if it looks better. The real trouble is that this will cut down on the reflection from my reflectors, and may even render them useless (also illegal) so I'm really back and forth about it. Did you end up buying the role a couple of months back?

Not usually in Brockton, unless I'm driving to Boston or something. The last time my car has been north of Taunton was back in April on my way to a Bruins game.

Also I was going to say Blacked out taillights all the way but the red-out looks awesome.

I posted these in the DIY forum a couple of days back, but I thought some of you might like to see this as well. I've covered my silver console rails in piano black vinyl. They now match the window switches and the head unit perfectly. It cost me about $50 to buy the vinyl, but I bought WAY more than I needed. On the upside, I have enough to do my b-pillars too.(my project tomorrow)

Oh my gosh i freakin love this thread!! Another nordic green 8, finally checking in. Got her about a month ago and love her to death. Definitely liking the darker look with this color (dark tint, tail lights, rims, etc..) But no hate towards chrome or other colors ;)
Was thinking about getting my rims powdercoated black but unsure on it because i really, really, like the rims that lhuynh23 has.
Anyone know the specs of the rims he has?

I originally purchased a borla exhaust for it but it was a bit much so I returned it I'm thinking to just get the cat back racing beat exhaust and racing beat headers. I want a good exhaust that isn't too loud I love the sound of the engine any suggestions?

Sweet. I've got the TurboXS full exhaust and i love it. I think it sounds the best and its cheaper in price than any of the others. It's very loud though, so probably not what your looking for. However, if you just keep your stock cat on and just have the catback im sure it wouldn't be too loud. Atleast thats what i've heard. But the racing beat headers and catback would sound nice :) Whichever one you go with make sure to post a vid of it! :rock:

the heck with it i went back and put $900 out for the cat back borla, ill take your advice on keeping the stock cat for now we'll see how things go. i got another issue though, i bought springs off rotaryfx and they actually raised my car instead of the .5 inch drop it talked about.. so i'm pretty embarrased its like driving a monster truck around so no videos for now, but this weekend ill put on the borla and ill take some before and after vids of it.

I got the spring job done at a dealership im pretty sure they were installed correctly.. but researching wont hurt, I would have done it myself but I have no time

how much the dealership charge you to install aftermarket springs?

over $300. i asked them why it looked raised and their response was the springs would settle to their normal height after driving for a while. if that proves wrong ill end up getting the adjustable coilovers

preload the springs. you will be lower i promise. its super easy as well

Thanks for the advice I did a lot of research and brought it back to the shop and chewed them out for installing my springs wrong, they preloaded them for free and my ride is looking so much better! :D:

Will do! I just finished putting on the racing beat header, put on the borla just a bit ago, sounds freakin amazing i love the sound borla puts out! I'll probably leave the stock midpipe though. Friday ill clean her up and take her on a shoot hope the weather permits!

So, I've decided to repair my OEM wheels, rather than replacing them. I'm considering going with a different color than original, but I haven't decided on anything in particular. I thought I would check with my fellow NG drivers for suggestions. The rest of the car looks completely OEM.

So, what do you guys think?

With the OEM wheels i would either stay the same color or go a dark gun metal grey. There are a few guys in this thread with black OEM rims. I personally think the gun metal grey would look good with the stockers.

the springs did the job but now im switching to Megan Racing Coils.
Its almost impossible to drive with 1 adult in the back with my current set up ( Rubbing issues, bottoming out).

How much of a drop did the eibach springs give ya?

My suspension set up is nice as i dont find myself with back problems after a drive, but not as low as Id like. My local shop is gonna cut some new springs for my shocks to fix the problem.. we will se how my body does after that lol.

Eibach springs gave me a .8" drop in the front and a 1" drop in the rear.

They are totally worth it dude, i love the look it gave my car at the time and even now still but my problem now is that i usually,. how can i explain...... "Girls usually come in two's", if you know what i mean lol.. so yeah must lowering springs/shocks set-up's wont hold a lot of weight in the back so any bump causes the feeling like your bottoming out, at least for me ( N.Y. streets are not like florida's lol ) that's why im switching to some Megan coils.

but i will def recommend the Eibach springs.

I had planned on making it down but it just was not happening this year.
