View Full Version : Racing Beat Spoiler Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 09:56 PM It seems that everyone is asking about the Racing Beat Rear Spoiler, well here it is from Sevenstock :p epitrochoid 09-13-2004, 09:59 PM what sides/rear are those? SuPerHerO::tOnY 09-13-2004, 10:04 PM that looks so normal. nothing "unique" aobut it Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 10:09 PM what sides/rear are those? The rest of the RB kit. Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 10:11 PM that looks so normal. nothing "unique" aobut it I had the same response also, but it grows on you a little. Ellar 09-13-2004, 10:21 PM The front clip looks like a Chrysler product with that bar across the grill. TheDosDog 09-13-2004, 10:38 PM Hey Nemesis8, How'd the rest of the trek north go? epitrochoid 09-13-2004, 10:40 PM didn't know they had an entire kit..nice! Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 10:43 PM Hey Nemesis8, How'd the rest of the trek north go? Zoom44 and I made good time and hit Redding at Midnight. Got up and headed into Oregon and hit some rain. We took those 50 MPH curves in the passes at classified speeds. The 8 loves curves. Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 10:45 PM The front clip looks like a Chrysler product with that bar across the grill. I'm still out to lunch on the kit as a whole. The moved the fog lights inward also. otrovago 09-13-2004, 10:46 PM Now that spoiler I like... When will it be available? and How Much? TheDosDog 09-13-2004, 10:48 PM I thought the RB kit was rather unspectacular but the more I looked at it I saw many aspects that were really appealing. First the fit looked excellent. There were no unsightly gaps and the fitment was superior to the port installed OEM package. Also the nose, while a little plain was solidly built and maintained adequate ground clearance. The lip was a little notchy to me but matches the lines of the rest of the kit. My overall impression was it looks stock. my .02 mrtux 09-13-2004, 10:52 PM looks domestic Mugatu 09-13-2004, 10:54 PM that is one cool looking 8. Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 10:56 PM Now that spoiler I like... When will it be available? and How Much? Sorry, I do not know. bureau13 09-13-2004, 10:58 PM I like the kit...I like the Mazdaspeed kit better, and in fact I think I like the Appearance Package + Mazdaspeed spoiler (what I have) a bit better as well...but I do like it. It looks like it came from the factory. Then again, I tend to hate all the overtly flashy boy racer kits like Veilside, et al so if you like that kind of thing I can see why this one would be a bit of a let-down. jds Nemesis8 09-13-2004, 10:59 PM ...There were no unsightly gaps and the fitment was superior to the port installed OEM package... I totally agree with you on that point. No gaps at all - it seemed very well made to fit snug. They said that the spoiler was actually functional in creating downforce, rather than some big wing designs that could actually lift the car. VelociRedBeast 09-13-2004, 11:03 PM same here, I think it's too normal, I like X-men spoiler the best. TheDosDog 09-13-2004, 11:06 PM Functionally this kit seems superior to OEM. The nose protects the radiator a little better and covers the bumper reinforment bar without trim or a false grill. Like other RB products, you can't fault the engineering. I like the looks just not much more than than stock. otrovago 09-13-2004, 11:09 PM well, I plan to go with the R-Magic Front Lip, for the sides I haven't decided between the R-Magic or Mazdaspeed, for the rear I want something that will show the rotay accent, I might just go with the rear mud guards or something to that effect. And as for the spoiler I like the look without a spoiler, but this RB spoiler is just my cup of tea. murix 09-13-2004, 11:17 PM My first thought was it was not enough, but then I realised that is the point. It is a bit more aggressive and different but not over the top. It could be stock and the fit and finish looks oem. One interesting note is that it does not lower the car. The appearance package lowers more than the RB. This is good if you are worried about bottoming out. I think I am going to go with the RB setup once it is released being the RB whore that I am. :D rx8cited 09-13-2004, 11:21 PM Thanks for the pictures. It looks like the fog lights are moved so as to not block the oil coolers - am I correct? rx8cited XDEEDUBBX 09-13-2004, 11:54 PM that looks so normal. nothing "unique" aobut it everything they make is suttle... B-Nez 09-13-2004, 11:54 PM Yeah, I don't know about the spoiler. It reminds me an awful lot of the G35 spoiler. Take a look sometime. rx8cited 09-14-2004, 12:01 AM everything they make is suttle... I think the got the RX-8 cat back exhaust system just right. I love mine. rx8cited 310Guy 09-14-2004, 12:32 AM http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28400 Here are my thoughts. Look at the side skirts, especially the rear part. What does it look like? Yes, the factory aero flare kit - exactly. It seems all they did was extend the factory aero flare up to the front. It doesn't matter, I like the side skirts a lot. My compliments to Racing Beat. XDEEDUBBX 09-14-2004, 01:29 AM http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28400 Here are my thoughts. My compliments to Racing Beat. yea the sideskirts look great..but they are a little different than the factory side flares..they seem more round...my only complaint is the front end...but i guess that was theur attempt to be diffferent... DreRX8 09-14-2004, 08:48 AM Yea G35 spoiler all the way--it looks okay I'll pass on it though. XeRo 09-14-2004, 09:37 AM although the spoiler looks G35'ish and most will pass on it...it's the most functional one out there to date, aside from INGs... and the side skirts as long as these are at least as low as the Appearance pack with the front mud guards i'm game...cause im piece milling multiple kits together...i don't like just one whole kit...MS front end with Extreme Dimensions Carbon Splitters, MS rear, and either RB sides or Auto-Bahn Strasse...that's my kit..i think... moRotorMotor 09-14-2004, 10:02 AM although the spoiler looks G35'ish and most will pass on it...it's the most functional one out there to date, aside from INGs... and the side skirts as long as these are at least as low as the Appearance pack with the front mud guards i'm game...cause im piece milling multiple kits together...i don't like just one whole kit...MS front end with Extreme Dimensions Carbon Splitters, MS rear, and either RB sides or Auto-Bahn Strasse...that's my kit..i think... I agree with you Xero. I think I will skip on the RB front bumper, and go with a Mazda Speed instead, but use their side skirt and maybe rear bumper or go with Mazda Speed. Pete 09-14-2004, 11:39 AM don't like it .... looks like a small version on the trans am wing . or the G35 wing. otrovago 09-14-2004, 03:31 PM Just received this from JL at Racing Beat: Rx-8 owners, It seems that everyone is buzzing after attending the recent Sevenstock event. Those that weren't able to attend have certainly seen, heard, or read about many of the new parts that are being introduced. Since the show, and the Racing Beat open house, I have received a tremendous amount of e-mail asking for updates on many of these new products. Let me address them in the following: 1. Body Kit We debuted the new RX-8 body kit at the show. The kit consisted of a Nose, Side Skirts, Rear Fairing, and Rear Spoiler. These parts were completely designed and fabricated in Japan under the guidance of Racing Beat's co-founder, Mr. Takayuki Oku. Once the on-car design was completed, a set of fiberglass molds were produced and a sample set was air-freighted to the US for test fitting on our car. The parts were fitted, painted, and installed on the car just prior to the Sevenstock event. We are currently awaiting the arrival of the production molds from Japan so that our US fiberglass supplier can begin production. We do not have retail price established yet, as we must first obtain cost information from our fiberglass supplier before a price can be established. As soon as pricing and availability are known, information will be posted to the site. 2. Intake System The Racing Beat REVi Intake System for the RX-8 is nearing completion. This system will feature a enclosure to encapsulate the filter element in order to 1) maintain intake sound to a tolerable level, and 2) allow the intake to utilize the stock VFAD intake tract. The tooling shop has taken a bit longer than we had hoped to finish this project, but it appears that only final refinements are required. (The parts that were displayed at Sevenstock were only received a day before the event!) Now the we have the "final" working part, Jim Mederer will be back on the engine dyno to fine-tune this system. We are still a few weeks away on this project, but we are anticipating having this available sometime this fall. Again, pricing and availability will be posted when it becomes known. 3. ECU Upgrade Prior to the Sevenstock event, Jim Mederer had been extremely busy with both the intake and body kit projects. Heaped on top of these projects was a complete engine rebuild of the 1986 Bonneville RX-7 for Mazda USA. After many years of "museum" sitting, the engine on this record setting car was showing its age. The last components were installed on this car on Thursday afternoon, and the car was loaded onto a trailer and delivered to Sevenstock event site. Unfortunately these projects just hasn't left much time for Jim and his crew to investigate the ECU project. He has informed us that he intends to resume his work now that time allows. More will be posted when information becomes available. Thanks for your interest in Racing Beat, let me know if you have any further questions. Best regards, Jim Langer Racing Beat, Inc. 714-779-8677 www.racingbeat.com D MENAC 7 09-14-2004, 04:38 PM What I want to know about is the rear side flares, they seem to integrate with the original rear well. The thing I do not like about the MS rear are that the muffler tips are no longer surrounded but open on the bottom, but I did like the no grill look of it. NavyDood 09-15-2004, 09:39 PM That's the best looking spoiler out to date. Everything else is too bling bling except for the OEM one. Twinturbo2800 09-16-2004, 12:44 AM id have to say the wing is nice,...... rest of the kit looks like junk Outlaws eXtreme 09-16-2004, 12:56 AM The rear is still one of the best ideas out there... sideskirt is good... Front takes time to get use to... and the spoiler is similar to the G35 wing.. so. rotarygod 09-16-2004, 01:13 AM Here are the pictures from Racing Beat's site. Scroll down a little. Pretty classy if you ask me. I was goin to get the MS spoiler until i saw this one. PErsonally Fairfax cops aren't the nicest and target any car that just looks fast. THe ms spoiler will draw that attention no doubt, but i really dig this RB spoiler and its not too flashy. Anyhow their website says sometime between late october and letters on the forum say early december...Anyone here hear of any release news on it or even a price??? I'd love to get some of these RB products but it seems like they are always a little behind on getting them out on the market, but then again I guess it's the price of waiting for a quality product. THanks ClusterOne 02-03-2005, 01:47 AM Has anybody hear anything new about this spoiler? Me want! RotaryNoob 02-03-2005, 01:54 AM www.racingbeat.com Availability: We are expecting the first production run of these components to arrive around the middle of February and we are now taking pre-orders for these units. Simply place an order for the parts you are interested in, and we will ship them as soon as they become available. If you order multiple parts, we will hold the order until ALL parts are ready to ship, unless you contac Aoshi Shinomori 02-03-2005, 02:40 AM I may have missed a post on this, but what wheels are those on the car. The RX-8 has the 5 spoke wheels right? It's late and I might just be remembering poorly, either way I really like them. Mikelikes2drive 02-03-2005, 06:04 PM when i went to racingbeat last, one of the engineers told me they are making another front end... one that looks like the the Mazdaspeed but with another air dam below the already big air dam that the MS kit has. He said it was going to be a more aggressive look that the public wanted. I cant wait :D Mr. Ed's rx-8 02-04-2005, 03:48 AM i beleive those rims are racing harts...not sure but they are C-somethings.
