When I originally ordered the RX8, i wanted red; but later, i changed to the silver color instead. So, after sending correspondance back and forth, he finally had a confirmation that my car was built already BUT the color change was not set because the change never went through, he assumed it did.

So, as part of an apology, he was willing to throw in all accessories for FREE except the 6-CD changer, which is not part of the GT package.

Question is, is the 6-Cd changer part of the GT? In the itemized lists, it says that the GT model comes with an in-dash CD w/ changer and an optional 6-CD Cd-player.

So, was it good that I pay for the 6-CD changer while he picks up the tab for the rest?

Well, he did say I was definitely the first batch, coming last week of May but he thinks it'll be a bit earlier, depending on the cmplexity of the accessory install.

man your dealer is better than mine. just today my dealer said no to throwing in the cd changer. i asked because of the pre-order problems i've had and he just flat out said no. :mad: now he does say that he got my color changed, finally, which i asked him to do on jan 13th and he did that within the last week or 2 at the most. your dealer should still be able to change the color as you car (let me make this clear) has not been built yet!!! but if he is willing to throw in all that other stuff for free and your happy with the color, there is no need to do it now. maybe i should speak to the management over there.:(

no ones really sure if the gt package comes with the 6 cd. all its says is "bose preminium audio". it would be a pretty shitty preminum audio package if it didnt come with the 6 cd changer

well that's not what Mazdausa told those of us who asked. according to them from a reply to rotorgeek (and myself and others who got a simlar reply):

At this time, as you stated, the 6-CD changer is not a standard feature
on the RX-8. However, it will be offered as an accessory. Also,
regarding the Automatic Climate Control, this is not part of the RX-8.
The air conditioner is standard, but not the Automatic Climate
Control.


and i agree that it is pretty shitty considering the bose system for the mazda6 comes with one. not to mention that it is standard in the bose system in the rx-8 in canada

that email says its not standard on the rx8, it makes no mention of the gt package

tribal, it's been repeatedly asked, both for the GT package and the others. We've gotten the same answer every time. Go to the Mazda website- notice on the build-your-own that no matter which package you stick on, you still have to add the In-dash 6-cd changer for $500 as an accessory. Or go ahead and email rx8orders and get the same answer everyone else has received.

Just FYI.

In Japan, in any packages, you need to add your audio.
Every package only has a tuner as default.

There is a "Type-S" package in Japan which has bose sound system. This package also has only tuner.
