i took the RX down to the test and tune at Maple Grove, Which is a drag strip, and almost got to tha 14s. so close. I ran a best of 15.085 @ 90.71 MPH. I'm confident that I will see the mid 14s with a little more practice.

After doing a short burnout to clean the tires I launched at 6k and while slipping the clutch. The car felt strong coming off the line with only a small amount of wheelspin. I did try a higher lauch point, 7.5k, later in the night but I don't have results from that run due to a printer malfunction. i will say that the higher launch felt faster, but with no slip I will refrain from further comment.

Best time slip

R/T 1.041
60' 2.167
330 6.266
1/8 9.695
MPH 71.86
1000 12.610
1/4 15.085
MPH 90.71

pretty good time you got for first time out.:) when i was a kid we used to go down to maple grove every couple of weekemds. hows the track holding up? my uncle used to drive an olds 442 with a grumpy jenkins built engine. we hung out in the pits all weekend talking to all the big name drivers. last time i was there as an adult i remember having to pay some large amount to get back to the pits where i used to get into for free as a kid :(

Hey zoom, they're doing some pretty major improvements to the pit and consession area so the place looks a bit out of sorts right now, though the track itself is in good condition. I've never had problems getting back into the pits, of course I tend to go on Super Chevy Sundays or Sport Compact events where the pits are open to everyone. I'll be taking the RX out again next week to a private meet held at an airport, So FATF, but with muscle cars.

cool good to hear that the are fixing the place up. i ll have to go check it out next time im in the area. i once saw don garlits brake his own speed record 3 times in the same day at that track :D good to know the pits are still open for special occasions. going back there and watching them tear the engines apart between runs was always half the fun:)
