Note the difference in outdoor (above) and indoor (below) pic. Blue is awesome but I am in love with the the Red & Black interior not offered with the blue (+ i dont think the red interior would look good with blue exterior even if it was offered)

I've heard many people say Silver is too light. Is that right? I think the wheels look better with the silver than with the Grey.
The white/clear signals seem blended with the silver color. Do you think yellow signals would look good ??

Silver and Titanium look great. There was a burnt orange I say a long time ago, but I don't see it any more. Give me the black and red leather also.

Look closely at the picture of dials with the blue background light. It could be just the lighting at the show, but it looks as if the light doesn't make it to the bottom of the dials---starting around the "4" on the center tach guage. I hope that isn't a problem with the production models. Otherwise, it would look cheesy and cheap.

The backlighting was pretty even when I played with the prototype.

nordic green looks quite nice...almost blue, kinda like that black opal color on mercedes. to me winning blue seems a bit not right on the 8 for some reason...maybe i'd like a slightly different shade... white looks great! too bad it's not available in 'states. and yellow looks AWESOME

I don't think anyone's seen the car up close in silver yet, so your guess is as good as ours....

As far as I know, the only colors any of us has really seen are black, titanium, red, and blue. Anyone who HAS seen silver, feel free to correct me. Like anyone who drove it at Laguna Seca.

Yeah, it's a weird one this. I was sold on that colour for a while and then suddenly it stopped working on the RX-8. Pretty much the same shade on a 350Z looks fantastic but there's something about the shape of the RX-8 that means it doesn't seem to work for me. This is not to say that anyone who has ordered blue is crazy because if it works for them my opinion doesn't matter a fig. It's just not right for me though and that's odd because I really like blue cars!

The Sunlight Silver is available on the Mazda 6, I've also seen the colour swatch at my dealer.

This would be the closest match I've seen to the colour on a Mazda 6 at my Dealer.

I saw the silver at the Houston Auto show and it looked pretty much like normal silver just a little bit lighter.

I think it looks really good but there are just to many dang silver cars out there on the roads for me to chose it.

I took the titanium.

hmm...iam thinking the silver with black/red leather would be a classic combination for a sports car like RX8.

I would've got the blue, but I wasn't 100% sure it was the same as the 6's blue. But black is a nice second favorite.
Black always looks awesome at night going past neon, etc. Tough to keep clean & perfect tho.

The blue isn't the same- the blue on the 6 is an electric-violet-blue, and the color on the 8 is slightly less intense, and less violet. However, you made a great choice- the black, imo, is one of the most beautiful colors on this car. The way it made the lines stand out in person was amazing. I didn't get it only because of the cleaning factor- I don't have the patience to be washing the car every 3 days when it starts showing every speck of dust.

I know there was a winning blue rx8 at mazda's rev it up event. To anyone that attended what did you think about the color? Is the color just like the 350z's blue, artic blue of the rsx or completely different?

I saw and sat in the blue car at the rev-it up in Orange County.
Color is slightly darker and richer looking than 350Z. Really
the photo on page one of this thread is how it looks in person.
This car had leather(no sunroof?) and the euro lip spoiler.

yeah i think i like the blue on the 6 better than winning blue. think on the 8 it needs to be less dark and **blue** and more flashy and violet-ish or something... or maybe w/ more depth and metallic-ness. i dunno, it's hard to explain... Lensman is right, it might just be the shape of the car. and yeah blue happens to be one of my favorite car colors too, next to yellow and white and green

To me, it looked identical to the 6's blue. Very nice.

Great pictures. They reinforce my decision of ordering the blue. Looks good outside and inside.

I like the combination of just the black interior with blue exterior. Clean, not too busy.

The green is beautiful too, but I didn't want to take a chance of ordering it before seeing it. Matter of a fact, the car looks great in all colors, but I have to say the white is smokin!

i just want to know what the general consensus is about the silver color (not the titanium). Do you guys think the silver is too common a color? how would it look on the RX? Generally speaking do you think the RX with its styling and shape looks nice in lighter shades or in dark ones?

i think the silver is the colour to have. The car looks spectacular in white, but white cars in the UK are rare - nobody seems to buy white cars. The only white cars you see are being driven by the cops and white delivery vans and trucks.

White is the #1 colour of choice in Canada & Japan for what it's worth.

I saw the silver at the NY autoshow, beautiful, but it was locked,you could only get in the red one. I would sit in the car and listen to various people's remarks about the car. Most loved it, but almost every guy that got in the back complained that while it had enough room, you wouldn't want to take a long trip in it. It's big enough for my nephews and that's all I care about, I'm not sitting back there. Only one guy complained about how cheap the interior looked, compared to the Z. He said the leather seats, for a new car, were already showing wear and that the stereo looked like a cheap plastic juke box. While I have to admit the seats did look well-broken in, who knows how long this car's been around and how many shows its been in. It drew the most attention at the Mazda site, nobody was looking at anything else. There was a constant buzz around this car, and I imagine thousands of people had already been in and out of this car. Then a kid jumped in and was blown away saying he didn't care how big it was, it red-lined 9000 rpm, so I told him I already ordered one in blue!

All you see on the red is the colour of the red, the blue is nice, but fashionable and probably out of date nect season, the white is striking but when the sun shines, you;re blinded! The yellow for very very bright fun type personalities. Black. Well, it's horrible!

Astonishingly you forgot the two best colours: green and Titanium... Shurely shome mishtake.

i saw a silver 8 on the road. not surprising since the R&D facility is here in Irvine, CA. it had the black/red interior. someone wearing a tie was driving it around...corporate guy maybe?

anyways, the color is really nice. it is not too light as some have been worrying about. it was an overcast day, so the light was even, being that it was around 12 noon when it was out. it looked especially nice since it was at the front of the intersection, waiting to turn left. i was heading the opposite way, so i was able to see it head on, 3/4 view, side view and the rear. VERY NICE. sexy when it began to move.

the silver is great because it offers a good contrast to the grill openings, from the front...and for the rear "diffuser" and exhaust tips. it looks menacing coming head on.

so Maximus, have no worries. good choice.
as for me, i prefer the Ti. gray...to each his own, right?

Actually it was Titanium and did look nice. The silver is much lighter than that. Check out a miata or Protege they are the same Sunlight Silver.

sorry, you're right. After I posted it I realized the car at the NYautoshow was in fact titanium. To me they are all different shades of grey.

I looked at the infiniti g35 coupe at the dealership and that came in "3" different shades of grey.

I really like either the titanium or the silver. I really want the red two tone interior though...not sure how the tan will work with the titanium. The pics makes it a little washed out and not stunning. I think I'll wait until I see both combos in person and make my choice. I wish red was offered with titanium here in the states.

I think the "problem" with the RX-8 is that it is such an attractive design that it looks great in pretty much any color! For those with a lot of extra cash, they could have a different color for every day of the week! :D

Silver is oustanding. I changed from red to the silver because the dealer had a Protege'5 the same color and you are right on about the wheels lookin great. Out of the 11 RX 8 the dealer will get 5 now will be silver, 2 gray 1 yellow, 1 red, 2 left.

Those things below the headlights are headlight washers. They pop up and spray the headlights when you activate them. Pretty useful in the snow/ice. (and the mud, too, but I would hate to see an RX-8 in mud :()
