If the cost was the same for both the BMW M3 and the Mazda RX-8, which one would you buy?

M3.

This post isnt really not very fair because the rx-8 doesnt have the 333hp and the bmw name etc.. I think if the question was more like if you can afford both which would you get or if you got a detuned m3 or the older gen m3 or if you got a more powerful version of the rx-8.

Well Eternal made a claim of a pretty high number with the exact same options as this poll, I just wanted to see if the number would be even close? I for one would not buy the M3, I prefer the 8 in every aspect for what I desire. If anything this would be slightly unfair to Eternal being that it's posted on a RX-8 site so there is a bigger margin of error, but I figured that wouldn't stop people from being honest if they would buy the M3 if at the same price. I..... wouldn't....

I'd never buy an M3. Too temperamental, too many problems with reliability. One deserves better for $50K...

We had a really bad experience with my ex-wife's BMW. I never liked that car except for the low end torque. But it had too many major repairs done before it even hit 100k miles.

You should have included an "Awwww Hell! I can't decide" option....

I'd still get the RX-8. I want a freaken Rotary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i said the rx-8 because if it cost as much as an m3 it would be so much more better than it already is and i think it would definetly outclass the m3. but in reality if it cost as much as an m3 i wouldn't buy either one 'cause i don't hae enough money :D

BMW name and 333 HP. Still you want me to vote, ofcourse M3 hands down.

The poll shoulda been something like this:

RX-8 (current form)
~250-280hp M3 (theoritical car)

or

Mazdaspeed RX-8 (280-300hp)
Current M3

*all at same price of course (arbitrary price can be taken) or lets just say equal cost.

it seemed to me that would be most peoples gut reaction "m3 for $30,000? i'd buy that!" but if the rx8 was $50,000 and therefore had all the better stuff to go along with that price tag, then i say give me the rx-8. again if i could afford it :o
