I've seen pictures of a Miata coupe at my firestone dealer, and was surprised with how nice it looked. I wasn't sure if it was a prototype or not.

Is there a Miata coupe available in Japan.

And if yes, will one ever be available in the USA?

Mazda is toying with the idea...and no there is not a coupe in Japan. at least not yet. i think it would show up there before it comes stateside.

i like the idea of a coupe as well. the rear has an Aston Martin look to it.

I love the coupe idea (and agree with you about the Aston Martin feel). And I also like the photoshop pic from Brenda Priddy & Company as to the next gen Miata ...

i am not such a big fan of the "priddy" miata. in my opinion, i would stick to the classic lines of the current car or even the NA (1st gen).

there was a picture of a proposed "new" miata in Automobile Mag or C&D, and it kept the same profile, and the front lights were almost vertica. that would be a miata i would like to see. similar to the Jag. F-type prototype.

Naturaly, I'm a fan of the RX-8, so I don't mind the use of the same kind of styled front headlights (sort of brings it all together into the Mazda family "look" with the hood lines like the Mazda 6, new Mazda 3 and of course the RX-8) ... But I'd really love it if Mazda when back to the 1st gen's hid-away headlights - I'm an old fan of cars with "pop-up headlights (my last car was a 1990 Probe, had it for almost 13 years with over 228,000, with hid-away headlights - never had any mechanical problems with them)

Sorry, I haven't seen any other pictures of proposed "new" miatas in any of the magazines, last time I looked at any of them was the April issues that covered the RX-8 ...

If any of you could provide any links, that would be great!
