That's a tragedy.. but it is that person's fault, not the guns. If the guy had a baseball bat.. he probably would have hit her with that. I can't imagine what the family is going through... everyone makes mistakes, too bad this one was severe. :(

A Funny:

Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southern Republican? With elections coming up, we should all decide. Here is a little test that will help you decide.

Question: How do you tell the difference between Democrats,Republicans, and Southern Republicans?

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges.

You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or Oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.

That story is hilarious. My wife had one of those stun gun things before we got married (no she never tried to use it on me.. well, not that I can remember). I wanted to try it out on someone, but never had the opportunity.

Not to be all "Mr. Factually Serious Guy" here, but the guy with the knife has a better chance of stabbing either the Republican or the Democrat, at a short distance, before they can draw their guns. The time it takes someone to close ten yards is less than three seconds at a fast pace. Unless the victim has their gun in hand or is wearing a competition rig, they will most likely get stabbed first.

So it would be more like:

Democrat - Blah, blah, blah... STAB, STAB, STAB..errrr!! Thunk!

Republican - .....STAB, STAB, STAB..errrr!! Thunk!....maniac grabs gun from bleeding Republican...BANG!

Southern Republican - .....STAB, STAB, STAB..errrr!! Thunk!....maniac grabs gun from bleeding Republican... BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click.....(sounds of reloading)...BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

HaHaHa! I usually have just my gun on me with out my two extra magazines (I better be able to stop them within 10 shots or all the people in the surrounding area better have good cover right... But when I go on long trips I take both of my extra magazines with me. I guess that's incase I have to deal with more than one situation while I'm away from home or if there are several assailants. And I prefer the Federal Hydrashocks at .40. Nothing like 97-98% one hit stopping power anywhere from the abdomen up... :) I have often wondered what 4 or 5 would do to the same bad guy.

did you know if someone is breaking in your house and you shoot and kill him it's murder if he falls out side your house.but if he is still inside your house it was self defence.always drag them back inside

Actually that is not true. All you need is the proof that you were in fear of your life and it would be ok. Dragging the body inside won't go unnoticed by the investigating detectives and now you have to answer why you moved the dead person you just shot into your house. If the person had a weapon or proclaimed to have a weapon or was attempting to get into your house and appeared to have muderous intentions (why else would someone be breaking into your house while you are at home) then you should be fine in a court of law. Here in this state with my CPL I actually have more rights to use deadly force than the police officers and state patrol.

I recommend that you get a good book explaining the laws in your state in regards to lethal force and read it before you have to explain to a jury your justification for shooting someone. I know mine almost by heart.

Not in Texas. :D

If you are messing with my property even, my car in the driveway, I can use lethal force against you. I can even shoot you through the door if I am fearful of you. And I will.
