View Full Version : McGreevey resigns RX-GR8 08-12-2004, 04:57 PM http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5686618/ expo1 08-12-2004, 05:03 PM We sure live a messed up state politics wise. This will be a big story, I am sure Howard Stern and the guys on 101.5 will have fun with this but I feel bad for the kids and the wife. Now people will forget about all the corruption issues and only remember him for being gay wich is not a reason to leave your job in and of it self. eskimo 08-12-2004, 05:26 PM Yeah, you guys got a messed up gov. ;) Being gay isn't a reason to leave, but he says he had an affair, and "violated his bonds of matrimony". I feel bad for his wife & kids, but still ... I don't think it's so bad what he did. Didn't that happen to Ariana Huffington's husband too? RX-GR8 08-12-2004, 05:28 PM he also has a sexual harrasment case against him. eskimo 08-12-2004, 05:34 PM So harrasment, infidelity, and fund-raising problems? He's got Rowland beat. wassup with the governors around here? edit: although Rowland's corruption was pretty bad - blatant and extensive. dag 08-12-2004, 06:32 PM My jaw dropped when I heard the news from my wife. This is just ugly all around. I guess the Catholic church has one more reason now not to give him the host. I agree with most of the sentiments expressed above. Generally, I think NJ has been doing well under his leadership, but he has had one scandel after another. If he was a single man, I would hope he would have stayed in office (at least not leave because his sexual preference was revealed). Also, the comment above does not mean that I condone the church not giving him the host, I actually think it is dispicable that any church would turn away anyone. This is a story that is just going to grow. I hope in the end that the press will give the McGreevey family their privacy. It's over and he is leaving. The press needs to let it be. dag magixpuma 08-12-2004, 06:48 PM He's just using being gay a way to resign to keep away our attention from all the scandolous acts he had in jersey. Mc GREEDY was and is one of nj's worst gov's he squanders tax dollars on meaningless helicoptor rides new houses and helping his scummy friends. I DONT EVEN PAY TAXES YET BUT I HATE HIM. HOW DARE HE uses being gay a way to try to distract us from his horrible governing skill people outta be ashamed. As a great man once said. He "aint" got no class. Razpewton 08-12-2004, 07:06 PM Not meaning to sound out-of-touch or anything, BUT... wouldn't him being married and having kids make him bisexual instead of gay? Meowloud 08-12-2004, 07:10 PM .. wouldn't him being married and having kids make him bisexual instead of gay? He would have to still be having sex with his wife for that :p :D SiMplyBluE 08-13-2004, 07:06 PM Wow it finally happened! McGreevey is going.....still stunned.... zoom44 08-13-2004, 07:18 PM someone on the radio was asking "how could his wife "stand by" him during that press conference. calling her weak blah blah.... i bet she was there to make him go thru with it "oh so you had an affair with a MAN?! fine i'll just stand right here while you tell EVERYONE! betray me will you?!" Kel Rx8 08-13-2004, 07:31 PM did anyone else think she walked in happy too ? all morning on the radio station 105.1 dr dre & ed lover show they were gay bashing him. SiMplyBluE 08-13-2004, 07:36 PM Does this mean better times for NJ? RX-GR8 08-13-2004, 10:34 PM who knows. it cant ge much worse. magixpuma 08-13-2004, 11:00 PM No, Because hes screwing my state out of a vote due to hes resigng late enoguh so instead of them having another vote they just put his "vice" govenor in so we get f ed out of a vote and another 1 of his friends gets to play polotician. MCGREEVEY= DOUSCHE BAG dag 08-13-2004, 11:24 PM I am not sure I am quite understanding how you feel about the man. Please clarify. In the end, NJ politics are brutal. My brother-in-law has some contacts and shit I hear. Rumors of McGreeveys sexual orientation has been rampant for years. And the shit that he is getting nailed with is being done throughout the state by Democrats and Republicans alike. Don't be fooled, the Republicans know what they are doing by saying he should resign now, just like McGreevey knew to wait until later to leave office. McGreevey's exploits are as much about his stupid politics as it is about the Republicans being pissed they aren't in the governors mansion. I hate politics, but what I hate even more is a man/family being destroyed all in the name of politics. I wish him and his family well and I can only pray that his replacement can keep NJ strong. dag |
