I know it's out of your region, but some of the SE guys gotta drive farther then some of you might!

Anyways, in case you don't know what it is, it's 318 turns in 11 miles (on a public highway that is). Thats Nurburgring status, but this wont be a race or time trial or anything. Plans and accomodations have already been laid out for the meet, details here

been to the Gap several times. Had thought about going perhaps w/e of 8/21-22 if my wife is out of town. If that doesn't happen I may want to join this outing if I can split room costs w/ someone. BTW, it IS a blast!

The Tail of the Dragon has the best twisties and horseshoe turns on the East coast. Back in June I went on a motorcycle ride, Honda Hoot, and the roads were great to drive on the motorcycle. I wished I could of brought my RX8 but I live in NJ. You have to be careful though because some of the turns are so tight that during my trip i have seen 4 motorcycles, most of them just crusers, drove off the road. If you guys go, post some pics.

Whats the deadline for this?

Since this is requiring an enormous amount of planning and calculations, we need a nod as soon as possible, with Enrollment Form and payment recieved no later than 9/7/2004. I'm trying to do as accurate calculations as possible to ensure the out-of-pocket expenses is as close to exactly [expenses ÷ number of attendees].

You KNOW you're coming, Blue. Quit teasing Meow like that... :D :D

This is going to be awesome...

is anyone from the NE committed to attending yet? I'm off of I-81 / I-70, not far from I-76 in the four state (WV/VA/MD/PA) area outside of DC. Would likely take 81 most of the way - then either go through Knoxville/Maryville down 129 OR go in through Asheville NC way (Bluegrass).
As of this morning it looked like only four folks were confirmed for the trip with about ten signed up.

rx8daniel, you need to re-look how many folks are coming to the event. The "confirmed" column means that their payment has been received. There is also a sizable local contingent not staying at the site who are yet to get their names on the list. We are expecting between 30 and 40 cars by the time the event rolls around.
There is a caravan/conyoy coming out of NJ and PA you could probably link up with, and there is a thread on here about it.
So, come on down. And, as a bonus, if you take the Knoxville/Maryville 129 route, you'll drive the Dragon's Tail to get to us.
