Polak continues to help our club grow and has a great offer for all Tri-State Members. Its a great opportunity to learn of this great product and meet other tri-state members on the day!

"Mark writes :: I spoke with Jim at Crystal Guard and he was nice enough to offer us a great club meet location during the month of August.

Crystal Guard as many of you know is a unique protection polymer that is professionally applied to your cars paint. It is not a wax or a polish but rather a glass based sealant. Ineffect when a installer applies a coat of crystal guard it is like applying a sheet of glass over your car. According to Jim it provides an impenetrable barrier between you cars paint and the outside world. Without any maintenance the coat of crystal guard will last up to a year and a half. Using their "CG quick" is can last up to 3 years, CG quick is simply a spray on wipe off consumer level based application of the "Professional EX kit". Depth of Shine after application is as good as Zaino, and the shine will renew itself each time you use CG Quick. And if you still wish to apply Zaino or another sealant/wax/polish you can right over the coat of Crystal Guard. Because of the hardness of the Professional Coat it will help prevent further nooks an crannies as well as rock chips forming in your paint. The only thing that I dislike about the product is it doesn't offer the "slick" feeling of a just polished car, is feels more like a glass countertop, not a bad thing but for someone who likes to watch the bottle of zaino slide down the hood because its so slick it can't sit still its a bit of a disappointment, but that's just me.

What type of products are going to be demonstrated? I know someone will win a detail w/crystalguard or something, but is there going to be anything else on display?

I'd like to go either way, if just to see the mods on some people's 8's. I would like to know how the 8 sounds with either the hi-perf cat from CZ or maybe the RB exhaust.

we'll raffle two bottles of CG Quick, half off a professional version of CG ($299 normally, for $150). Two demos of the CG Quick on people's cars (we'll probably raffle this as well)...and food! Hope you can make it...

Jim, list here also includes folk from the Tri- State Site. At this time it looks
about 13. Then again there will be last minute drop outs and those that
may turn up unexpectantly. The most we have had at a meet is 18, which is quite good for Rx-8's.

desire and intent are two different things unfortunately, i may not be able to make it, my dad's turning 50 but is also traveling on sunday so i may have to stick around...right now im 66-75% sure that im going to go but i'll be able to update tomorrow

Just a quick message...

We had a nice turnout for the Crystal Guard demo. Jim from Crystal Guard flew out from California to give the demo, and Brett Simon opened his shop to host the event. Both of these gentlemen are super people, and made it a terrific event. Several products were raffled off - including bottles of the Quick product, and the grand prize of a highly discounted professional application of the product. I'll post some pictures as soon as I sort through the 80+ for a couple of good ones. Congrats to Bill and Ron for having their cars in the shop for the demo application. Brett's shop is fantastic, and was large enough to host the two demo cars (and three other cars), with room to spare.

Special thanks to Brett for showing me what can be done with a little wet-sanding and polishing on my car to hide the key scratch.

Yea i can second that. the turn-out was a good one and the Jim and Brett were very helpful. Brett showed us a few things to help maintain the car (including a clear bra piece for Midlife8 which was nice) and Jim demo'd the crystal guard product nicely. the two cars looked amazing. can't wait to see some of the pics w2aew. i still cant believe you got off 80+. i took about 30 lol

Very good meet and very informative in how to care for the car. Jim and Brett were great, answering all our questions. 80+ pics!!! Dang.....thats alot, lol. But gotta admit watching them removing the layers of zaino from Bill's car was funny. The final results were very nice, esp. Ron's velocity red!!

Yeah they were teasing me about the wax, but oh well. Hey, we found out the black has metallic flakes in the paint like the other ones, but after the 2 hour ride home my car still looks like its just been waxed and I didn't have to do a thing. I love this stuff!!!!

OK - well, of the 84 pictures I took, 76 of them are good enough to keep!!! Of those, I picked out 11 pictures to put here - so here goes...

This first set is the "before" pictures, and in-progress. Ron's red 8 and Bill's black 8 are the subject cars. The in-progress shot shows Jim from Crystal Guard working on Ron's car, and Brett (Englewood Auto Spa shop owner) working on Bill's car. Also included is a shot of Brett installing the ArmorGuard clear-protector on Ron's hood.

It was great to see Ron & Donna, Mark, Alvaro, Bill, Adam, Feras, Justin and Kel.

I love this stuff. Yes its great just wiped it of and it looked like I just waxed it.

Its pretty cool. I applied it on yesterday after the sun went down. Loved the way how the water does a shrinking effect to show you that the product is working. And after wiping it dry, it looked nice and shiny. Even at night you could see the reflection of everything. This morning passed by and looking (comparing to other cars reflection) and all of them were dull, except for mine :D Like Bill says, very easy to clean....as if it had wax on it. Nice pics Alan of the before and after....Did anyone get a pic of the other cars in the other lot? :p

Hey Al,

The only pictures I took from the other lot were a few of the back-end of Kel's car - mainly of the new Greddy exhaust. You can see a couple of thumbnail shots in my last picture post. So, unfortunately, I didn't get any shots of your Winning Blue.
