Wierd Gear Changing....

The wierdest thing happened to me today i have been driving for about 20 min and i come up to a stop. I put the clutch in and wait till almost stopped and put it in first gear to start off again. Well when i put it in first it rattled it really bad almost as if it was going in and out of gear really fast and made kind of a grinding noise. I know what your thinking and no i had my clutch all the way in the entire time. anyone know whats the deal with this.

I think I had something like that happen to me once and only once about a month ago. Since then, nothing, so I'm not too worried.

I had a similar experience, like even with the clutch all of the way in, the synchros were still engaging a bit. Same conditions/frequency, very occassionaly (once or twice) during a rolling stop.

At first I thought that I may have not fully depressed the clutch, except that my clutch doesn't seem to be enganged until it's 1/2 to 2/3 released, so even that hypothetical tiny little bit should not have mattered.

Do a search on pressure plate bolts. They have been known to back out in early vin# RX 8's.
