What effect if any will the war or the state of the economy have on your purchasing the rx8??? Iam concerned that the longer it takes togive bad boy Sadaam his marching orders ,this will effect both the confidence of car purchasers and other decisions concerning the economy Share markets look sicker by the dayby the time the cars arrive in june orjuly i hope thati will still have the financesto make my purchases.

Currently, not much effect at all. Yes, I've got a little less in my investment accounts than I did, and I'll have to pull a bit more out of savings for my down payment because of it, but these things happen. However, my position is (knock on wood) pretty stable, as is my husband's, so I don't think it'll affect much in the way of our purchasing decision.

It probably won't keep me from buying an RX-8, but it might delay my purchase a bit. The economy has made me hesitant to take on new obligations like a car payment. The economy has definitely affected my company's sales. If this were 1998 or 1999 I would not think twice. Right now, I am thinking twice and the test drive will tell the tale.

It's a bit difficult to say. The economy may make many people less likely to splurge on an indulgence like the RX-8, but it may also bring a new group of buyers as some find that they can't quite afford that Boxster. If you look at it from that point of view, the RX-8's actually a steal, price-wise, cheaper than even the S2000...

good point Billk, the utility and price of the rx8 could sway more buyers in now that times are a little tough. People who would have put down 33K for a two seater like the s2k might now give the rx8 a chance. But then again, maybe not, because people who buy cars like the s2k are not really worried about utility anyway;)

Personall, I'd be more concerned about them having Earthquakes in Japan than the war in Iraq.
