hello everyone im planning on getting an oil change soon but i need to know whats good for rotary...i was leaning towards royal purple but i dont know....should i just go to the dealer? whats a good oil filter too? i was thinkin NAPA but i dont know... please help

alot of us use regular 5w-20 castrol with a mazda oem filter. i dunno for sure, but royal purple is synthetic right? big no no, doesnt work right with the oil injection system. either way, use a mazda filter, theyre cheap.

remember the angle of the oil filter when you take it off. I had my oil replaced and the #$$hole spilt oil from the filter onto the engine. They tried to clean and degrease it, but now my baby has been smoking (literally) for the pass two days. totally FU'd

I'm using pennzoil 5W-20 (only brand of 5W-20 I could find) and the Mazda filter. Keep your oil filter receipts in case a warranty issue comes up in the future.

In Asia, the Mazda dealer is recommending 20W-50 oil...
