Well my shorty is lookin for a new car, any suggestions (under or low 20's)?
She's really interested in the mini,I like the mini too but for that price there are a ton of cars she could get into w/ more room. She's also interested in the beetle(maybe new convertible model).

A week ago I would have said, both reliable and good cars, but from what I have been reading on the web, the VW's have cronic engine and electrical problems and the Mini is a recipe for problems.

That's what I've read anyway.

A problem free car is what we're looking for. besides her cars gettin broken into a couple of times, she's had all types of issues w/ her neon and her 89bm. My friend's mom had a Passat and from time to time it gave them problems. But what negative things have you heard about the mini. The only thing I don't like about that car is no trunk.

A friend of mine just got a new beetle convertible and loves it. Consumer Reports raved about it as well. I haven't seen any articles denouncing its reliability (but I haven't looked either). It's a sweet little ride. Keep in mind that the turbo that will eventually be standard with the convertibles isn't out yet and won't be until late summer....

All VW's seem to suffer from the cronic Coil issue, Audi as well.

Check www.canadiandriver.com the mini is apparently an electronics nightmare. Maybe after the first year BMW will get it right.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but the Honda Civic is an excellent commuter car. It is realiable, but does get stolen alot. If she is looking for a high quailty, realible car than look at the Civic. The only down side is the lack of performance.

Nope she doesn't like the 6 cause I told her I was considering it over the 8 and she said stick w/ the 8.
She does like the civic, I like the Rsx(was considering it too) they're similar except for the price tag. And the civic is very reliable. I like the protege but I don't think she will. She'll probably get the civic. I'll let her know yall suggestions and see what she says.

The Corolla is not a bad choice. Its low profile, very very reliable, fuel economy is excellent. Take a look at it.

Yeah I mentioned the corolla to her awhile ago but it's not attractive neither is the the civic sedan the 2dr is cool though.

The RSX is almost the same as the civic except it has more upscale styling and a more powerful engine without the SI guppy looks.
