I just wanted to see if anyone else had played this game. I pre-ordered it (I seem to love to preorder things ;)) and I picked it up on Sunday night.

Holy sh!t!!! This may be the best game I have ever played. The graphice are stunningly original. The gameplay is as good as ever if not better. The music is the stuff that your will be singing back to yourself days after you play.

If any of you guys are gamers (Zelda fans especially), I would highly recomend picking this game up.... If you can find one... ;)

I'm a Zelda fan and I was actually at Nintendo's site a while ago checking out Windwaker.

I still haven't finished Ocarina of Time! I got stuck in the Shadow Temple  and got frustrated and put it down. I like the strategy and puzzle-solving, but some of the physical challenges are TOO difficult. My reaction times and hand/eye coordination are not the same as a 16 year-old's.

I have thought about buying a Gamecube just to play Windwaker. I finished all the other ones except for OOT. Maybe a Gameshark will help?

I picked it up, played through the first part and went back to Octrania (the freebie disc) I want to finish it before I start Wind Waker.. otherwise I probably won't ever.

I thought Ocarina of time was really easy. The only hard part was finding all the heart pieces. I even beat the game with 111 golden spiders.

Any advice on getting through the Shadow Temple?

Almost makes me want to have a gamecube... almost.
They haven't bring any good rpg's for the gamecube yet.

Hey, I was just playing the old skool Zelda II about 20 minutes before I read this thread! hehe... I'm a poor nostalgia buff who was never allowed to get a NES when he was a kid, so I have been so addicted to the old games since I acquired one. Beat Zelda I last week, and I'm about finished with Zelda II... now I gotta get a SNES to play III, and then I'll have to pick up a 64.. and then a gamecube, and by the time i get that, whatever the next one out is... I may eventually keep up wiht the times.. hehe...

But I suppose less money on the consoles means more for my 8... :-)

EDIT: YEAH! just beat Zelda II... hehe...

Actually if you want to play the SNES version of Zelda pick up a GBA SP, and the game A link to the Past. You won't be disapointed. Also you should just get a gamecube and Zelda Wndwaker. They rerelease one of the Zelda 64 games for the game cube, and with some Zelda Windwaker purchases it comes with it.

Oh, Btw I just started playing it last night, I am truly amazed at the game design, just simply awesome.

I have logged about 30 hrs, according to the game clock, and I am maybe 1/4 of the way thru I think. The game is so good, even my wife is addicted!! The graphics keep impressing me over and over... They definetly made the right decision with the whole toon-shading thing.

Actually, I like the old consoles, because they are cheap! hehe... I really can't justify spending a couple hundred dollars on a GameCube right now, plus $50+ a game, but I can easily spend $25 on a SNES and 5 games that I just picked up this weekend (A Link to the Past is one of them) at a yard sale. The old games are just as much of a fun way to waste time, and this way it costs me hundreds of dollars less. I'm all for that! All I lose is some cool points for not having the latest and greatest, but hey, that's what my RX-8 will be for. ;)

I agree. I love the old stuff. I did not buy a old-skool NES but I have downloaded like 210 roms on my PC. I have a USB gamepad so it's just like the real thing. It's great, every game they ever released and it was all free...

I like the emulators, but I also like being able to play on the original equipment. Well, with the exception of the original NES's cartridge problems... but I have one of the "newer" ones that is a top loading, verticle slot for the cardridge, and it never had the bad connection problems the old ones did. If I could use the Zapper with the emulator, I'd be all over it, because the games really do look a lot better with the antialiased screen on the emulator vice the 320x240 screen on the tv. Oh yeah, and my computer's gamepad is WAY to comfortable.. I'd play way to long.. I need that nice rectangular controller!
