How about a meet in Hillsboro/Beaverton/Portland area

I am not sure if you guys have some kind of regular meet or anything. I haven't seen anything posted here in the recent past so i was wondering if anybody here is interested in doing some kind of meet just to share ur 8 experiences or just meet people u cal always learn a few stuff from some rotary experts here. Is there any place that someone has got in mind.. I just thought i will throw this idea out there and gauge the responses.

Tough to gauge the responses when there are none.

I wish I was still in the area. I would gladly come. Unfortunately, it is a bit of a drive now.

Edit: I guess I type too slow.

It's a bit of a drive for me from Puyallup. But I was thinking that a Mt. Saint Helens thing might be kinda cool.

pdxrx8...good to hear from you. I am in. Let's do it on a Sunday. There are many nice Rx-8 owners around our area. I had the pleasure to meet few of them while servicing my car at Ron Tokin. Let's hope we get good response

I'm up for it. I just moved to Beaverton from the Bay area and it'd be cool to meet some of the other 8 drivers around here.

we'll decide on a date and time for this meet after giving a little more time to a few other people who probably dont check this forum not very frequently.. it is good to see all these responses so far. I am really looking forward to this meet.

I could probably do it...it's a drive from Puyallup, but the old lady is out of town, and the kid and I will need something to do

I am sorry guys I should have posted it earlier but got a little busy towards the end of the week.
Since people had expressed interest to meet tomm Aug 8th sunday. Lets meet tomm. Sorry if it is a little bit of late notice. Since some people are going to drive a little distance i would say we meet some time in the afternoon probably around 2 pm. I cant think of any good place to meet. Do you guys ahve any good suggestion on any place to meet. Only Hooters in beaverton comes to my mind. If there are better ideas which i believe there should some one please name some place and then we can meet up there.
Thanks and I apologize again for the late response.

I have not had the opportunity to do a fun drive in my 8 yet, so I am all for CCJs suggestion. If someone knows of a decent driving spot to meet and have fun I'm in. As long as it's not any farther south than Portland...that would be just too far for me to drag a three year old .

Tomorrow is good for me. I like CCJ's suggestion as well. Take advantage of the nice weather we're having this weekend.

Lets meet at 2 pm at hooters in beaverton as of now and then if we want to go for a drive or something i am up for that too. If people are planning on coming can you just post here so that we know how many to expect. To get to hooters you have to get on to OR - 217 from US - 26. Take exit 2A and take a right on OR-10. if you drive blocks it is right there.
When i get in i will probably reserve a table uner mazda group. If you guys want to meet at a diff venue that is cool too. Just suggest a location.

i am sorry i didnt look at the second page of this thread before posting the previous one . A good driving location that i know of is towardsd the coast to tillamook or cannon beach. I dont know abt timberline lodge so since CCJ is suggesting that we can do that. we still have to meet at a common point so has anybody got a better meeting point than hootters and wat time do u guys want to leave.

Hooters is fine by me. But I was wondering how set we are on that time? I have to pick my wife up from Seatac at 7pm...that is about a three hour drive from Beaverton. Would anyone be opposed to an earlier time...leaving us time for a fun drive. I'm not sure how far away the drive would be or how long. But if someone from that area wants to set a firm game plan for time, place, fun drive location and length, I'd like to attend.

I say we shoot for noon at Hooters, tommorow, the 8th of August. I will have to leave the area around 3:30, so if we meet at noon, that will give us over three hours to eat, talk, and take a spirited drive to someplace fun. How far away are those waterfalls?

If the falls are just too far, we can discuss the drive over lunch.

All in favor, say I!

Yup hooters at noon works for me. Who ever checks in first just say something about a mazda rx-8 meet or someting like that so that rest of us can locate the table. I might be just a little bit late by some 10 mins not more than that.

Sorry all, my kitchen pass has been revoked. Even though she is out of town, my wife has exerted her power of persuasion. She's not impressed about the idea of bringing my daughter on a long car ride to meet people who's common bond is a superb automobile (I put that part in ).

She's right though, a three year old in the car for far too many hours just wouldn't be fair, no matter how much fun it would be for me.

So if anyone wants to do something like this in the Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia area, count me in!
