View Full Version : Sex and nudity in I, Robot?
Speed_D 07-28-2004, 10:40 AM For those of you who have seen it, is there any sex or nudity in the movie?
The reason I ask is because I have started seeing a woman. She has a 7 year old son and we want to take him to a movie. We would like to see I, Robot but she doesn't want to expose him to strong sexual content. Do you guys think this movie is appropriate?
Thanks in advance,

mysql101 07-28-2004, 10:41 AM I don't recall any nudity, but I have a bad memory :)

I'd be more concerned about my kid seeing violence in a movie than sex or nudity. Then again, I ain't got no kids, so what the hell do I know?
northern-8 07-28-2004, 11:22 AM OK, mayby I'm just a stupid Canadian who lives in a city where nudity is no big deal, but isn't I.Robot pretty violent? Should a 7 year old be exposed to the kind of violence and gunplay that I saw in the movie's trailer?
Don't get me wrong, I love good action movies, but my boy won't be seeing that kind of violence until I feel he's ready..
PA BATMOBILE 07-28-2004, 11:25 AM The bike in that movie is sick and the Audi is just crazy. I saw the Audi concept vehicle used in I, Robot at the New York International Auto Show and let me tell you, it looks even cooler in person.
Speed_D 07-28-2004, 11:36 AM You loungers rock and or roll. Thanks for the quick responses.
I have been told that violence and language aren't an issue. He gets exposed to worse things when he visits his dad. Great guy. :( Oh, he also saw Spiderman 2 which has one of the most intense and scary scenes I have seen in a movie in a long time. When Doc Oc kills all of the surgeons and nurses. I cringed at that.
By the way, I don't have children either so I'm not sure what the rules are anymore.

Well if he can hear the word 'F*$k', why can't he watch a couple (or multiple couples) acting it out? :D

Seriously, regardless of what we might think, the rules are whatever your girlfriend feels is best for her son.

Don't get me wrong, I love good action movies, but my boy won't be seeing that kind of violence until I feel he's ready..Nah, not too bad violence-wise. I took my 10 year old to it. It's got lots of action, but most of the "killing" is done on robots, not people, so that tames it a bit. Should be ok if he's a mature 7 year old. Otherwise it might scare him, just because of all the action.
As for nudity, nothing you wouldn't see on network TV anymore.
RX-GR8 07-28-2004, 12:03 PM are there any naked robots in the movie? i love the sight of "bare" metal. :D
Outlaws eXtreme 07-28-2004, 12:07 PM The only nudity you'll see in this movie is Will Smith's butt crack. The violence like the other people have said is what you would see on TV.
Would I take a 7 year old to see this? Not really... the movie is just a big commercial with Will Smith's naked butt showing telling us how much of a racist he is with robots. :P Rotten Tomatoes!
