3M Rockguard

Just got my RX-8 back from a 3M rockguard application appointment (hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors done). The film has a few bubbles and dust particles under it. When I asked the manager he said that it was typical because it is a hard product to work with. Just wanted to see if other people have noticed this with their 3M rockguards.

I've had the hood and fenders done and If they do the required prep work ( I watched the guy do mine and the prep work was extensive) you dont get bubbles . I'm looking at getting the front bumper done now.... is that done in one piece ?and how do they handle the conpound curves around the grill and oil cooler opening?

You should tell the manager that if you wanted dust and bubbles, you would've done it yourself. You paid for professional installation, and you got sub-par product. Demand they redo it right. From what I understand, if it's done right, it is completely flush with the paint. I've seen the clear bras on the 8's at my dealer's lot, and they look impeccable; what you're describing is a poor job by the installer. Good luck.
