Just looking what else I could get for the same price as my RX8.

Always fancied a TVR and this seems a bargain:

Which would leave me with £5k to buy a decent runabout as TVRs are so unreliable.

That car is sweet!

I really like their new T350 but they always make a dog's breakfast of the rear end. It's the only thing that puts me off about TVRs. Otherwise they're stunning looking machines, and those engines...

You must be fed up of waiting! Patience is a virtue and the Oilman wants his RX8! Curse the waiting.

Hmm...a TVR is a whole different proposition. Personally (speaking as a former TVR owner), I would steer very well clear of the AJP-engined cars unless you have got a very good sense of humour.

The RX-8 will be a whole different experience - smooth, reliable, sensible(ish) insurance, well put together. If you want to know what I mean then organise a test drive in a TT then head over to your local dealer and try a TVR. You might be quite surprised just how 'agricultural' the TVR feels by comparison...

I'm surprised that there is so much talk of people switching to other cars. I agree that Mazda are not doing the best job of keeping us happy and I don't want to sound like I am making excuses for them but to be frank, there is not a huge commercial incentive from their perspective. We have already placed orders and the cars are clearly much in demand. To some extent I think we just have to accept that there are bound to be a few teething problems if we are going to order cars 6-7 months before they are due to start shipping to the UK. If it's the car you want, just relax and hang in there - don't cancel just because you haven't received a brochure etc. (there are other things that are far less excusable, such as failing to deliver within the agreed timescale, but that's another story).

Im not serious about cancelling the RX8, just interested in seeing what else I *could* buy. :)

At the end of the day I am a car nut, and I just want to own and experience many different cars before my time comes.

I have driven and been passenger in several TVRs and I love the sound and the grunt of a large NA engine. I know they are a different prospect hence the comment about needing a day to day cart.

I still really want the RX8 and am really looking forward to experiencing the rotary, However I have never owned a big V6/V8 and one day I will do so. I dont expect to own the RX8 for maore than 2 years max.

I have a list of cars as long as my arm that I want to own, I just need to decide in which order :)
