View Full Version : RX7Club down?
Ocelot 07-16-2004, 11:44 PM I tried going to the rx7club multiple times throughout the day and it says:
There seems to have been a slight problem with the RX-7 Forum database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
Anyone else get that when they visit there? I can't seem to get in.
Ocelot 07-17-2004, 12:02 AM Come on....none of you can just go the rx7club.com and see if it works? Takes like 3 seconds.
Aristotle 07-17-2004, 12:05 AM They're upgrading VBulletin.
Ocelot 07-17-2004, 12:05 AM Ah, thanks.
We are currently upgrading RX-7 Club to vBulletin3. There's 3 million posts and 60,000 attachments that have to be converted... takes us a while :)
Toadman 07-17-2004, 09:38 AM And you think our members bitched about the changes, just wait and see over there. :D
Ocelot 07-17-2004, 01:50 PM Damn it I have S-AFC questions that need answering over there, lol

Aristotle 07-17-2004, 02:40 PM You'll be able to change the color scheme in the control panel. VB3 should be a nice change.

they never teach you how to do a search over there or even something as simple as scrolling farther down (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=34333) to see if the question had already been asked and answered?

so how long?:D
It will hopefully be back up by tonight :) And yes, it will have a dark and light theme - Exactly like this board...
bigmack000 07-17-2004, 04:34 PM Woot!
Inconsequential 07-17-2004, 07:39 PM sorry, I dont go to the rx7club.com forums... they were asses to me when I went there and asked a few questions, I basically got told that the 8 isnt up to par with them, so I shouldnt be there, is how it came across, the people at the bcrx7.com forum are awesome though, very open to all rotaries, but I guess if you dont live in BC then, it takes something out of it... just my experience
mr. gadget 07-17-2004, 07:58 PM so you avoid a whole forum for like one or two butt nuggets?
Lawerence 07-17-2004, 10:16 PM Damn i need rx7club!!!!!
I was on the highway uh...testing my 'topspeed' right beside an S4 that happened to be doing the same thing :D
Then my car just kinda died. The rpms were up, but absolutely no power.
My power steering and brakes went (all above 100mph mind you).
I managed to get off and putter to a gas station, where I shot out a marvelous cloud of blue/white smoke...and the car finally died.
RX7club I need you!!!
Amur_ 07-17-2004, 10:47 PM so you avoid a whole forum for like one or two butt nuggets?
They call use the Evil Forum for a reason, y'know. ;)
Inconsequential - don't worry about whichever turkeys gave you a hard time. They're probably part of the same bunch who spent last week attacking PETA's board because "well, you know... because it's PETA..." F*ck 'em. Most of us are good guys. :)
Hetz - if any of MY attachments are missing after the upgrade... well, let's just say that I'd start sleeping with one eye open if I were you... ;)
86rx7 07-17-2004, 10:57 PM Hail Amur! Dark Prince of photoshope!
We pruned the attachments database of all the older attachments. We also fixed the attachment problem so now you can post attachments again. I don't know if any of your attachments are gone or not - Depends on how long ago you posted them. I would think you would be happier since you can now attach an image to your post again :)

For a while I was using two threads in Area 51 to keep all of my attachments together. Then that feature began failing, and more than a few of my chops are scattered across various free hosting sites. :) I'm certain that the attachments in those threads go back at least 6 months...
Whatever. Now I can start fattening the Attachments database anew, for the next file pruning. :D
Amur_ 07-17-2004, 11:25 PM Hail Amur! Dark Prince of photoshope!

They ever teach you how to tell time? This was posted before that...
You = pwned.
It's up now... just making some final changes and double checking :)
christi88gxl 07-18-2004, 12:40 AM Sweet. I like how the new settings are taken place. Do you think it'll fix the lag issues, time outs and packet loss we get every now and then?
Ocelot 07-18-2004, 12:51 AM I like the new header, hopefully the upgrade will kill off all the problems the forum has been having.
You guys may like it, but I'll still probably get a lot of hate mail like I did on RX-8 Club upgrade :)
Ocelot 07-18-2004, 01:47 AM Meh, there will always be people bitching when there are so many people, but most should like it.
