Hey guys,

I am having problem in my RX8 with brakes making whistle sound when used to stop the car at 40mph or higher speed. The problem started after I did something like 5000 miles.
The service manager at the dealership told me they know of the problem something with metal built on the brake pads and they are working to design new brake pads that will be ready hopefully late Aug or early Sep.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem with his car ? Any suggestion what can be done to fix it ?

Thanks,
Eran.

I have the same problem.

Dealership told me the same thing

He also told me he was putting some sort of grease/liquid on the brakes as a test on two rx-8 and it seems to be working but cant do anymore until Mazda figures out the problem.

He also told me its because of wha the pads are made out of.

This thread talks about the problem. And gives a possible do it yourself solution which I haven't tried, but I think one person did....
