I started to think about how efficient the rotary really is. If the engine gets that hot upon shut off wouldn't that suggest that alot of the rotary's energy is being wasted in the form of heat? Also does anyone think the heat will cause hoses and other engine parts to break down earlier then on a cooler running engine?

If you sit in the car after it has been turned off (like in a drive in movie), you will quickly notice how hot the center console gets. And remains hot for an hour or so.
