Just the occasional scrap between visiting Americans (see 'knobs') to keep us entertained.

What a pity the competition winner is apparently not a forumist. Could have kept us amused for at least a month.

Assuming there *was* a winner, that is...

Looks like we are running out of new topics for posts in the absence of any more info from Mazda.

I thought my 'knobs' post would maybe provide some entertainment.....................

I was thinking the same...
What is happening to us ?

Has the banal chat stopped ?
Have Mazda depressed us all too far with the lousy feedback ?
Are we all having 2nd thoughts (surely not !)

Or is there simply no news.....

OH AND MORE DECENT PICS......

Cheers

While I am on a moan - here is another thing...

My other half has an MX5 that we bought 2nd hand about 3 years ago. ('97 P plate).
We registered the car with Mazda (slip in back of owners handbook) although the car was bought privately.

She gets magazines , marketing etc from them and has done ever since.

I came home today and found an envelope from Mazda and thought 'Yes - RX8 stuff'.
No - it is addressed to her.

To put this into context , we have spent zip with Mazda with the MX5 , and get great customer feedback , lifestyle magazines etc.
I commit to £22K for a car not even released and cannot even get a welcome pack within the promised timescales...
What is going on ????

Realize this is grumpy - sorry about that , just annoyed me coming home and finding non-RX mail from Mazda.

Morgan.

I've had the little black brochure through the post, but nothing else.

They haven't sent me any details of how to access my order through the web, although I think my dealer was supposed to do this.

I registered interest on the website months ago, and I'm wondering if it is this that got me the brochure, not actually ordering a car ????

I agree that mazda are taking this low key release a little bit too far.

if you think that's a scrap you should have seen what i almost posted. but then cooler heads prevailed and i have to be a good boy since i am a moderator. and of course it was cylo so it wasn't as bad as if it was a newbie and he was right anyway.

well the spanking talk was amusing;) but really i think it does deserve some more conversation. please lets talk about this knobs thing some more (in the thread of course) the absence of "auto" on what i think is the newer picture is a bit disconcerting to say the least.

I think we are all waiting for news and any new pictures. After the scramble of getting our orders registerred and deciding on colour and spec it is now a matter of receiving something new from Mazda.

Interesting point made about changing mind. I cannoit say I have but I do really feel let down by Mazda, there is nothing to keep the interest going, no invites to see the cars in the near future, no specific order confirmation letter (if there is I have nothing)etc.

The more my enthusiasm wains the more I think about my 2 major worries

1) lack of torque
2) quality of workmanship and material interior

and I come at these as a Audi TT Coupe owner where the 2 above are major postive factors. If I had come from a different car I may have different concerns. I know the above is 'old hat' but just thought I would share this info.

Hi all,

... quiet in here ? As nearly everybody is waiting for his preordered RX-8 (me too), why not try to get a second one for free.
To win a RX-8, learn somewhat german (or not, questions are easy ;-), and go this URL
http://www.autozeitung.de/index_az07_gewinnspiel.html

good luck & have fun ...

there is no clause like 'for germans only', but you're right, it's very easy.

No your right but when filling in the address it was formulated for a German address. Still its free and you never know.

Wonder why the UK does not have a simlar competition?
