View Full Version : I got an RX-8 in the mail! eccles 03-17-2003, 10:40 PM Well, a flyer for one, anyway: http://www.snikte.net/images/rx-8/msflyer.jpg :D Quick_lude 03-17-2003, 10:56 PM Free tires for life! Sign me up! :D eccles 03-17-2003, 11:02 PM Originally posted by Quick_lude Free tires for life! Still, I'll be looking into it. :) Toadman 03-17-2003, 11:16 PM "Limited Production", LOL! wakeech 03-18-2003, 12:32 AM Originally posted by Toadman "Limited Production", LOL! 16000 units in 2003 isn't a limited production model?? jonalan 03-18-2003, 02:39 PM $1.00 down? Does that mean there is no deposit required to pre-order? Hercules 03-18-2003, 02:42 PM It's hard to think of an UNLIMITED production model of anything though :) eccles 03-18-2003, 03:16 PM Originally posted by jonalan $1.00 down? Does that mean there is no deposit required to pre-order? Uh, no, the remainder of the flyer included most every car in the Mazda range, and the fine print made it plain that the $1 deposit didn't apply to the RX-8, Mazda6 or any Mazdaspeed models. Cylo 03-18-2003, 03:24 PM Funny they used the old concept 8 and not pics from the actual RX-8 MaRX8 03-18-2003, 04:48 PM Yeah, I got that flyer in the mail. I'm still wondering what the deal is with free tires for life. I do know it involves having your oil changes, and "other" things done at the dealership. But I don't know what the offical terms are, but in the long run it could be a good deal because of the cost of replacement tires on the RX-8 are going to be higher than your average Mazda. I'm sure there is a limit to how often you can get new tires. Otherwise people would be burning rubber all over the place, and what happens if you decide to get one oil change some place else just because it was convent. Does that null the deal? eccles 03-18-2003, 05:13 PM Originally posted by MaRX8 I'm still wondering what the deal is with free tires for life. Okay, here's the poop: This is a no-cost incentive program that the Roger Beasley group (or at least Mazda North and Mazda South, he wasn't sure about Premiere Mazda) are starting. Apparently, recent research has shown that folks who regularly get their vehicles serviced at a particular dealership, are very likely to purchase their next vehicle from that same dealership. So they're offering free tires as an incentive to keep you coming back: if you bring the car to them for all your servicing (both scheduled and remedial), and have them perform a four-wheel alignment once per year, they'll replace the tires when they get down to 3/32" tread. The replacement tires will be of similar type and quality to the OEM's; if the customer wants better tires, he/she can pay the difference. The usual disclaimers re smokey burnouts, racing, etc, apply. :) I already plan on taking my RX-8 to them for all my servicing needs anyway, so it's free tires for me! :D Now I just have to work on getting them to fit something better than those damned RE040's before I take delivery. MaRX8 03-19-2003, 05:32 PM Thanks for looking into that eccles. zoom44 03-19-2003, 05:45 PM eccles, what if your out of town and you need to get service somewhere else? does that 1 time void your free tires? eccles 03-19-2003, 06:32 PM Originally posted by zoom44 what if your out of town and you need to get service somewhere else? does that 1 time void your free tires? Dunno, but I'd doubt it. I suspect that they would take the distance into consideration - as long as it was outside of a reasonable radius, I'm sure it would be OK. I guess I'll have to read the fine print when I take delivery. ;) said7 03-20-2003, 10:07 AM Go get you free tires and do a monster burnout on the way out :D |
