I just noticed that the four month old "In the News" thread has about 17000 views, the same as the two week old "Kari Pics Here" thread.

My suspicion is that the same four or five of us are the only ones who read it.

Do you? Why?

I can't decide how to vote because:

1. I do read the thread.
2. Some of the posters are jerks.
3. What's wrong with more pics of Kari? :)

I would defer to the originator of the thread, who hasn't answered the poll yet.

I would say that all opinions are welcome, and yours would be more interesting than many. Lately respect hasn't been necessary either.

That's what I thought. That thread does need some spicening up.

Here is a breakdown of recent topics. I. Claudius, rlfletch, and bernieunger usually post anti-war and anti-Bush articles and comments because they can't find anything good to post about Kerry. 93rd Current chimes in with them too, but usually just posts about marijuana, although less often since he started his own thread. Aratinga used to contribute, but the sheer boredom of it all chased her off. RX-GR8, bowman, Jason Hamilton and I post good things about Bush and bad things about Kerry.

The best part is funny picture weekend.

Well, I left out a bunch. BRx8 and Seenitall on the left. Baller of course, but he hasn't been as serious as when he first joined. Gigolo Jason and Silver04RX8 are on the right.

There are others who post there, but not as often. Lately it has been more evenly matched than when the thread first started.

I have respect for Seenitall, he seems to be opened minded about things.

Honestly, Im from the South, so i'd probably be on the right. Ya'll got alot of righties already!

Tho i'm a more liberal southerner.. I believe they should paddle kids in school, but not administering 20 lashes.

I belive in the death penelty, but not by fireing squad.

I won't argue with Doc's last point. I do wish the wingnuts would stop posting the same lame pictures over and over, though. Even the funny ones (all two or three of them) get a little boring the fifth time around.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Aratinga got bored with the "debate" there and elsewhere. I think she got disgusted.

But librul or wingnut, we're definitely in a minority. Politics can't compete with the promise of soft-core porn and threads about bodily functions.

i'm not a big fan of politics, that's why i rarely read that thread...if it had to do with other world events and not just Bush vs. Kerry, i'd read it more often...frankly, i get disgusted with politics on both sides, and it has become apparent that this election is to choose the lesser of two evils...well, i guess that's every election

Hadn't been on the In The News thread in a while because I have been keeping up with the Tour de France and getting everything with my house straight. Good to know that you guys are keeping the discussion alive without getting dirty. I have tried to stay away from political things for the past three or four weeks and it really has helped me to see the good things around me. I don't think of people as being right-or-left-wing anymore, I see them as idiots that can't speak intelligently or drive.j/j

I used to read them but I became bored with those who incessantly criticize our President and leave no room for intelligent discourse. Reminds me of my Liberal Arts requirements in college: I didn't want to take them, some of them turned out to be interesting, but the plethora of minutia was not worth the effort!

Still, one comment on Kerry and Edwards: When you're as full of it as these two, you need TWO Johns! Touché!
