Oh how I miss Colorado! I need to head up there in the 8' this summer to 'visit family'. (Read - Drive twisty scenic roads :D ) I grew up in the Kiowa area east of Parker/Franktown.

Nice 8' by the way! :) I'm sure you two will be very happy there.

Thanks for the comments, and with the newly-installed 35% window tint (27% light transmission per Colorado law), it makes the red RX-8 really "pop"! I'll post some new pics soon.

Nice to hear I have a "twin" in California and anybody who wants to cruise their 8 through the Rockies will have a great time! Still, I wonder why you left the "bustling metropolis" of Kiowa! ;)

:D LOL!! Kiowa, a bustling metropolis!! Yeah right! ;) Acctually, the Air Force took me away. I spent 6 1/2 yrs in Shreveport, LA as a B-52 Crew Chief. And I'm now in Oklahoma City flying on E-3's as a Flight Engineer.

You hanging out at Tinker AFB? I moved to Phx AZ from OKC 10 years ago :p The only thing I miss is the killer annual air show. They're friggin fantastic.

Beautiful! And if you want to get together and cruise some of the beautiful, twistie mountain roads around here with some other RX-8s, you've GOT to get in with our RMRX8C. Last mountain drive we had as a group (during our main meet in June) there were 18 RX-8s in the caravan! Man, was that ever a sight! :D

Yep hangin out at Tinker AFB now. Not so bad, OKC is a pretty decent area. :)

Omicron you know I'll be getting in touch with you next time I'm in town!

Awesome ride! I was up in Broomfield/Superior 3 weeks ago. Planning on heading up there after I get my degree. :) What's this 27% light transmission?

The Johnson window tint has a rating of 35% tint, which is based upon the level of darkness relative to clear. The 27% transmission is how much light from the outside penetrates through the film. Simply put, if you're outside the car, the windows look pretty dark, and you cannot easily see inside; if you're inside the car, the tinting looks like what you may see through a "normal" pair of sunglasses.

Last week, I took the "8" up Mt. Evans Road (the highest road in the US), and she cruised to 14K feet without any hesitation! In fact, I was blowing past Colorado's state car (the SUV) and she looked good sitting "on-top-of-the-USA"!

I plan to go back up on Labor Day weekend, so I'll take some pix! In the meantime, we're livin' "Rocky Mountain High"! (thanks to Joe Walsh from The Eagles)

... Colorado also has the longest paved road in the U.S. as well. :D
