Had a photoshoot for a local mag. I copied the photographers positions and snapped some of them myself using my own digital cam, here is my fav pic:

Hey guys here is a couple of pics of mine. Picked it up in August and just realized I never posted here.

where is the best place to get clear corners, I was thinking about ordering them from rotaryfx.com (http://www.rotaryfx.com) but anyone got any other suggestions?

Can someone tell me how to get big pictures and not just the thumbnails that you have to click on thanks.

The mod done to the lip doesn't flow with the rest of the cars features

yah i just wanted to see how a very consertvative front lip would look so i went cheap first to see the effect. some like it some dont. i was thinking that if i do like it, ill find a more solid piece to actually mold onto the oem air dam. still deciding btw. and those tires are direzza star specs. awesome grip and feel.

My buddy tracks on star specs. Killer tires for sure. Good choice.

Those are "Fabolous" fender strakes... you can get the originals from japanparts.com if i'm not mistaken... originals are made of carbon fiber material... mine are just a copy, maybe you can order from carboninmotion.com (company in Malaysia)... they are very big and awesome!

The normal strakes were just not working for me anymore :) plus I painted the grill silver to highlight the strakes.

zell: while your car is not at all anything i would ever do to mine i do have to applaud your individuality and creativity. =]

Im awaiting my new front bumper because my veilside ver 1 lip broke and ditching the rear carbon aero for a carbon ms lip. then c-spec fenders i picked up cheap to cover body work cost and cf roof that i have a mold to make. My friend, ur rx8 got some things i havent seen b4 on a yellow 8 but u r not really showing them..i think it is really niiicee but i would love to see better pics though..like the headlights, the rear and the interior..also on ur profile, ur default pic..is that ur 8??? great job on the mods though...beautiful.

the rearis stock with carbon rear aero flares, rotary exhaust tips, and carbon trunk with carbon ms wing. the interior is all yelow suede inserts with black and yellow headliner. and yes that is my 8 before the carbon hood and wing. Also befor the front lip broke. I have plans for the near future. I just got these picture when i was out trying to get some for another thread

I understand what you said. You can change how many posts per page are displayed. Mine currently shows 50 posts per page. This can be changed in the User CP > Settings and Options > Edit options > Scroll down to Thread Display Options and change the Number of Posts to Show Per Page there.
make Sure to click "Save Changes" at the bottom.

welcome aboard :) mazda really made the lightning yellow a great color choice for the RX8. its too bad it only lasted for the 04 year.. such a vibrant yellow.. sadly, my hood is a different shade of yellow... glad to see another yellow here!

Your car would look 1000 times better with some sideskirts, I didn't think yellow brakes would work on a yellow car but I was wrong, they look pretty bad ass actually. nice ride, you're off to a great start :)

A real car enthusiast has recently renovated it, and laid fresh tarmac into the old tarmac of the runways, t make an entertaining track day circuit (its only for track days, not racing)

wow bumblebee that looks great..... I like that C-West with the fogs in it, have only seen it with the empty squares before. I didn't notice and intercooler in those pics.... is it V-mounted and just hard to see or are you running without with that rear mount?

I'm also curious if anyone has a pic with some gunmetal rims on their LY rather than Matte black..... I have been contemplating what color of wheels I want for soooo long and cannot make up my mind. I think right now I'm stuck on bronze if a sweet gunmetal pic doesnt throw me off haha

my old rims were Gunmetal. ill send you some pictures. the intercooler is v mount and blacked out on most of it for the stealth look. the rims there are mirror black and very glossy. I prefer the black rims over the Gunmetal now I have all the carbon.

oh shit man..... those 360's could not be cheap, when are they goin on the car? what is the weight of one of those?

I may wait till next year and finish a few other things rather than spending money on tires for only a short while before winter. a 19x10.5 +25 is 23.5 pounds. the carbon face overlays add a bit of weight over non. I believe it is ~2 pounds.

Sick man I've always loved 360 forged but I think they are out of my price range..... plus I'm still stuck on a set of bronze TE37's or Forgestar F14's

dont do the f14s they are played out like the rpf1s now. forgestar has a 5 spoke thats nice i almost did those in carbon but i am a sucker for the split 5 spoke design. the 360s are close to what i have in my turbo stuff minus support things lol. to tell you the truth the volk gts that phenik(mispelled i think) had for sale i drooled over and would have bought if i didnt get such a good deal on the super rozzas that i have for driving around on. I still often dream about them.

How could you not win best of show? What the hell else was there? You need a nice stat sheet setup for shows man. Did the judges even have any clue how unique your car is with the rear mount, etc.?

a lot of people passed the rear mount up. the only ones who seen it was anyone who had a clue and seen the bov and actually peaked into the engine bay. I plan on getting a mirror for the ground just to catch attention.

the judging was one guy that i seen ,yes only one, and he really did not even look. a lot of people were pissed, i dont think mine was best of show due to the fact of a few cars there but the car that won, yes it was nice but not best of show. the judging was bad imo all around in many classes.

the winner was a old red impala. it was clean but he was beating his system all day. the best neon still had stock rims on and basically threw accessarys know for the neon and some lights. nothing tired together and tacky from what i seen.

nope still on wastegate spring 7psi. it has been hot or raining when I'm free. hopefully I can get Kane up here to finish it off and dyno tune it. I have been very meticulous with everything and want to lock in the base pressure and as I go up. in the end I'm really in no rush its fun even at 7psi now.

How was the fitment? I saw a guy around here with the TT and the fitment looked terrible... didnt actually talk to the owner though, just saw it parked at a mall, coulda been a cheap replica

i had to put a spacer in between the hood and the oem latch. without it it sat too low. other than that it was just adjustment to even up the gaps. I too have seen some bad ones, seibon ones seem the most likely to have the best reliable fitment outside the real thing. Not to say there is not a bad one out there.

i know ive asked you this before but i cant find your post where you answered my question. Where did you order your CF MS wing from ?? How was fitment out of 10 ??

fitment was off and took some work to get rid of all the gaps. I dont know the the actual maker of the wing though. The resin has faded because of low quality and mounts are fiberglass and not metal so i made some aluminum ones. If it was not carbon and what i really wanted it would have went in the dumpster.I believe there are a few carbon replicas out there but i can not speak for any of them. replicas are hit or miss on fitment and quality.

Being a LY owner, I've never been a fan of the "bumblebee" look and I'm still not. But you know what they say about opinions... Regardless, the C-West front looks absolutely phenomenal on your car. Excellent choice and props to a very clean car done right.

No clue about coming back to Winnipeg this summer yet as I'm graduating at the end of April; then taking off to Egypt for 3 weeks then 3 weeks of touring around Asia/Europe where ever my little bro and I end up. Gonna be a sweet summer but won't get much done to the car as I'm starting my full time Job August 1st too.

As far as that girl goes I don't remember what her name was anymore and she was telling me to come to some bar because she worked at the front collecting cover; said we could come for free. I think the bar was called Area Nightclub or something like that maybe? All I remember from it was that it was a club located just off one of the main drags in Peg and there was alot of 18 year old kids there... probably some even younger haha

I have seen some pretty interesting paint jobs, but alot of them are very very similar. im trying to do something unique. This is one of the reasons I chose the wheels that I did. For those curious about the wheels, I put 20in "status grinder s815" wheels and the tires are 245/30/20.. I am debating on keeping the color solid yellow or to go with some kind of paint scheme. s/n I will be putting a 1 of kind body kit on when it get painted... Thank you for your input

That's pretty harsh :( ...this is pretty much my first And furthest I will have gone with a vehicle project.. I was going for a unique head turner, I wasn't looking to get "the same Ol' wheels" that everyone else seems to have.. From what I was told, this particular kit just came out.. I have seen similar but haven't Come across this particular one exactly.. I was hoping, possibally, for some positive inspiration for my 8 project.. But I Guess that's a much to ask for? ... Thinking about sporting these wheels this year and switching it up next season ...

Just being honest man, those rims and that kit are the worst ever. Search for thread title, "extreme dimension" and you will see what I mean. Take notes from some (namely bumblebeerx8) of the LY's in this thread. The LY has been around for 8 years, there is not much you could even thing of doing that someone else has not already done.

Soon to be an addition to the LY army... :) It's taking a while to bring her back to life, but the last few panels are going in for paint hopefully this week

Honestly I like the ideas for the rims. Definitely not something you see everyday and that's a plus in my book. I'd say keep the black center on there with the yellow it really stands out! I say props to anyone who is that passionate about their car and puts that much effort into making it unique. Even if the body kit isn't "one of a kind" who cares it's gonna look amazing on your LY. I'm not groovin' on the direction here. I know you're trying to do something different and I applaud that, but the bumblebee look on the LY is played out more than anything. With the lone exception of bumblebeerx8, I don't like any other black on yellow combo out there.

If you've got the cash, a lot can be done to a LY - besides the same ol' same ol'.

Properly sized, proper wheels on a properly stanced LY RX-8 could look legit.

^agreed but must be super agressive. Ive wanted to do a mag blue but not sure it would look good enough. I still like the volk gts and ce28s if i could trade/sell off my piaa super rozzas

I've had piaa super rozzas in hyper black on my 8 since they were released. thought about selling them, but still think they look awesome. so i decided to have them re-barreled, re-lipped and polished in hyper silver. the goal is a more aggressive look with a much deeper lip.

I could be intersted in the super rozzas if you still had them in August

Turned out pretty good... I went back to the stock rims.

Ill Keep it like this for a while and see what else I can come up with.
