I have read that fuel injectors have two types of ratings, volumetric flow rate and mass flow rate. If you've taken thermodynamics, or are just good with units, you could tell the difference between the two. Here's the question[s]:

Why do some companies rate their fuel injectors in terms of mass flow rate?

When is it appropriate to rate them in terms of mass flow rate?

IMO, volumetric flow rate has a much more accurate rating since mass flow rate is temperature and pressure dependent (remember pV=mR[g]T, derive it yourself  ). Just a thought.

Man you are really eager to apply your school knowledge. Carry that attitude to your Coop assignments and it will get you far.

I'm a nerd by trade, yet somehow I have no intership with any car company. Pettit Racing, are you guys hiring entry level engineers?
