No kiddin'!!! I heard (or read) that MNAO would release this information mid to late March. Now, they're saying May?!? If they won't know what accessories will be available until May, I'm thinking production is running a bit behind schedule.

sorry i don't have the email here at home to post but that is essentially what they said in portion of the email i received yesterday. they did not say 2 months in mine but but said something like it didn't seem likely to be this month now :mad: how hard could it be to translate the accessories brochure that is out in japan and and convert the prices to dollars? my guess would be they getting the supply /distribution scheme worked out for the statesor some such thing. when i get to work on monday i'll post what they sent me.

btw chinx they are talking about the little spoiler for the trunk(boot)that UK folks are geting standard. it's called a lip spoiler. but there will be other accessories brought out at this announcement as well as settling of the 6cd changer question.

I would take that to mean...... no one in the states is getting a 6-disc in-dash changer as standard or with a package. It should/could be offered as an option from the dealer for extra $.

out side of the spec deck in variuous forms mazda has said it came with the bose and then said it didn't but then said wait for the march announcement which they have now postponed.

I would put a little more faith in the Spec deck since that should be what the people that build the 8's should be going by :D I know that's probably not true but hey it should be. I would say that the rx8orders people are just giving the run around if it hasn't been printed in blood yet. Up until the last update to the mazdarx8 site the spec deck wasn't available to the general public just reps and a few dealers that the reps sent it to. so it was not public info yet as to why they wouldn't comfirm anything yet. I think these things we ask of rx8orders are set in some kind of stone but not such that they are telling everyone inside or anyone outside.


.....Not getting my hopes up for early delivery, 6 disc changer, mp3 play ablity, or anything else not publicly stated by mazda (this does not include any local rep or salesmen)

It just doesn't make any sense to me if there was something else to the higher packages that they would have set that in stone before offering it to help get people to pay the extra cost. I don't see them adding it on for the same cost later. Other countries already know if they are getting it or not and they are getting the vehicles later. Doesn't add up....

that's what doesn't make sense to me too. why do other countries know certain things they are getting but we in the us are kept in the dark? they keep saying they haven't finalized things yet, but i would think with production supposed to start either yesterday or monday they would indeed know by now:confused:

here is the pertinent part of the email from mazda about accessories:

"In terms of a "March announcement", I assume that you are referring to a previous e-mail sent by you in which you inquired about a possible CD changer for the RX-8. At the time of that e-mail, the best estimation, per your request, was mid-March for information about accessory developments, including the possible cd changer. There is currently no more information about this item, please remember, this vehicle is still in pre-production and time frames must be adjustable for the best possible launch.
