OEM vs Aftermarket bodykit?
Hey guys,
looks like Im going rotary by the end of teh summer, and I was wondering if you can give me some insight on the cost of a body kit (painted and installed) versus the OEM kit.
In particular, how much did it cost for teh OEM kit (4 skirts and spoiler straight from the dealer) vs an aftermarket kit (ie Mazdaspeed kit, 4 skirts + spoliler + painted + installed).

The Mazdaspeed kit comes painted if you buy the REAL one. So does the OEM kit. AFAIK, the OEM kit is bolt on. The Mazdaspeed kit requires cutting of the rear diffuser (black thing under the bumper... at least that is what Mazda calls it) off to replace it with the MS kit.
Other aftermarket kits fit around the rear stock diffuser. There are some other nice kits that will run around 2.5 K w/o paint. There is a sticky thread for all RX-8 body kits. Worth taking a look at if you plan on kitting it and want to look different / better than OEM / Mazdaspeed.
