I've seen that video before; it's been around for a while.

That moron got what he deserved. He's just lucky that thing shatter like glass, which stainless steel swords have been know to do.

To all the sword collecting people in RX-8 land: DON'T BUY STAINLESS STEEL SWORDS! The ONLY thing a stainless steel sword is good for is to hang on the wall. If you want a decoration, then they're fine. BUT, if you are looking for something to use, whether it be for kata, or tameshigiri (target cutting), spend some cash and get a high carbon steel sword. Something like a Paul Chen Practical Katana or Practical Knightly Sword. These are relatively good beginner swords that can take the flexing and punishment of practice. Stainless steel is better suited for knives.

And before you go swinging a 2 1/2 foot hunk of metal around, get some instruction from someone who knows what theyre doing, like your local dojo or the SCA. These things can and will hurt you if you do not respect them!

Thing is, too many parents will buy these wall hangers for their kids off of one of these shows or at a rennaisance faire and then let them go play ninja out in the back yard. Then they scream bloody murder when their kid gets hurt.

The schmucks selling the swords don't know any better than the people buying them.

looks like he got poked right in the ribs... probably hurt quite a bit, gave him a bit of a cut, but honestly i'm sure he's quite alright... the blade clearly fell away after it struck him (didn't penetrate very far, if at all).

One of the main reasons I got rid of TV. Your paying for over 50% commercials, religious networks, reality and shopping shows. I deal with enough stupid people on a daily basis to make up for what I'm missing on TV.
