Back when I watched this movie last year, half way through the movie I announced that I would make copies of the tape and broadcast it on TV, that way maybe other people would die and not me.. (jokingly) , my friends hated me for ruining the ending for them :D

But what would you do given that decision? Destroy the tape and all the copies and wait for death? Or make a copy and show someone, knowing that more people will die.

I'm too young to die. I'd send my copy to someone really old.

since the girl could manifest the tape, as she did in the cabin above the well, you might as well copy it. I know a few people who I would get to watch it.
The girls face in the closet is the best.

They couldn't make copies but someone could grab and view thier copy of the tape after they die.

In original film (in japanese), the director explains it as being more like a disease. You catch it and die or give it to someone else. So if you think about it that way, even if you somehow destroy it (or rather, let someone die with it), diseases tend to lie dormant and can always pop up again. So its inevitable really. :\

Yeah, it was like psychic smallpox.. I haven't seen Ringu, but in the novel series that's how it was.. but that world was really just a computer simulation based on genetic information of the "real world". So in essence it was a computer virus.

I didnt

The english versions of the original novels should be coming out real soon, or may even already be out.. I think just ringu first.. there's 3 of them that the whole japanese movie/tv series empire was created from... Not really the same tho.

Is it any media you can copy it as? Think about it... VHS won't be around for long :(

I would duplicate the tape and make the IRS watch it.

When that girl comes to kill me I'd just throw on some popcorn, plop down on the sofa, and watch the movie together :p

I didn't think "Ringu" was as good as the "The Ring".... It just wasn't scary or freaky at all
