I am thinking about buying the rear strut tower bar, and was wondering if anyone had pics of it installed. I would buy the front one also, but I want to keep my engine cover on.

View Full Version : Anyone install rear strut tower bar from Trussville?? Is there really a need? ---jps NavyDood 06-16-2004, 01:00 PM Um, what is Trussville? Kain 06-16-2004, 01:09 PM I have a rear strut bar and you can tell a difference (in conjunction with the added front strut bar) I have a competitors version though- but installation was easy enough 310Guy 06-16-2004, 03:19 PM Is this the Mazdaspeed one you're talking about? If so, pics are here: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24258 310Guy 06-16-2004, 03:20 PM Originally posted by JeupRX-8 I am thinking about buying the rear strut tower bar, and was wondering if anyone had pics of it installed. Mine didn't fit - at least the Mazdaspeed one. robertdot 06-16-2004, 03:25 PM Originally posted by NavyDood Um, what is Trussville? Trussville is a smallish town outside of Birmingham, Alabama (where I currently happen to live). In Trussville lies Trussville Mazda, a dealership that sells Mazda parts for a decent price and has an online store @ http://trussvillemazda.com. It appears that the poster wanted to save 5 keystrokes, and is talking about the dealership not the town. If you are interested in Trussville Mazda, check out the vendors forum. JeupRX-8 06-16-2004, 03:28 PM I indeed am extremely lazy and wanted to save the effort of the 5 key strokes of tryping "Mazda" Troy J. :) Kain 06-16-2004, 03:52 PM Originally posted by 310Guy Mine didn't fit - at least the Mazdaspeed one. did you lift the car>? 310Guy 06-16-2004, 08:09 PM Yes, I had the car on a lift during the install. The MS front strut bar is too wide for the engine cover. Scroll down in my link above, I have a couple of pictures with the cover on top of the bar... Kain 06-17-2004, 09:11 AM ohhhhhhh I thought you were speaking of the rear bar! sorry! yes my front one doesn't fit either, looks like if I just used a dremel or some other type of rotary tool, I could trim just a little off of each side opening and it would fit- the only problem is I had already painted the cover and would be cutting through paint, and am not sure how that would turn out>? |
