I have a rx8 that has the standard spoiler on it. i am thinking of purchasing a MS spoiler and i was wondering if the MS spoiler will attatch to the existing holes from the stock spoiler.

you will end up with very small lines from the old factory spoiler that will be noticable after you install the MS spoiler. It seems that which ever adhesive Mazda used to attached the spoiler will remove small amounts of paint after lifting the stock spoiler off of the trunk, the small lines will appear (while viewing the vehicle from the back) on the outer right and left sides of the spoilers base that is closest to the rear windsheild, in other words; the outersides closest to the windsheild that come to a sharp point. I have dabbed the lines out with touch up paint. My 8 is red and you can not notice it, well no one but me has, unless you look close-up to the car. If you have a silver 8 you will get away with it easily. I check with an autobody shop in my area 700.00 includes painting of the entire rear because the flake paint needs to be blended.

I don't find this problem at all... Not that I have a factory spoiler before but I have seen a MS wing taken out from AMUSE's car --- the MS wing perfectly disguise the old factory wing's site.

My understanding is that the MS spoiler both uses the same mounting holes as the factory spoiler. Also, the base piece completely covers the back edge of the trunk, so I don't think anything would show.

the base piece covers the holes... not the ends of the factory spoiler and there is a small "scratch" from the factory wing. It's not too noticeable, but it's there.

If you had done a search you'd find my post on the installation of my wing.
