1.Do the wheel locks come standard with the RX8?

2.Do you RX8 owners keep your wheel locks with you? or hide it in your car?

it's std i think. you'll need to keep the key in the car otherwise you won't be able to change the tire when you get a blow out or flat.

It's standard in the U.S. - not sure about other places.

If you have wheel locks, be sure to loosen them first and tighten them last to minimize damaging them.

The reason I ask about the where people keep their wheel lock key, is that if a thief wants your wheels he might search your car to see if the wheel lock is inside.

So hopefully you set the alarm and you or whomever hears it go off when the thief breaks in to look for the wheel lock will do something like call the cops.

I guess coming up with a good hiding place for the lock would slow the thief down - we've just gotta make sure we don't forget the hiding place .

Okay, I'll let someone else respond with the "well if a professional thief really want your wheels, you cannot stop them" line! I don't believe in making it any easier for them.

You can always lock your wheel lock keys in the glove box.

That is one of the first place that a thief will look. Someone on the forum already had their lock protected wheels stolen when the thieves broke into the car itself, and found the lock adapter.

I wouldn't take too much to squirrel it away in a secret location. That doesn't guarantee that noone will find it, but it would increase the odds.
