Cruise Control

It has been brought to my attention that all cars will be supplied with cruise control as standard. I'd not seen this in any of the specification lists and only realised from inspecting the controls. Are we absolutely sure that this will be fitted?

I don't think so Lensman.

Early pics of steering wheel seemed to show it but by the time the press pack was released in Jan it had gone. Besides, there has been no mention of it in any specs.

Cheers

Cruise control is standard - on both models - in Canada. And, the Europeans were crowing about being superior than Canada!

Has anybody tried to use cruise conyrol in the UK recently, IT's a complete waste of time unless your driving around in the small hours of the morning.

With UK traffic the way it is it would be an additional cost for a system that will hardly ever be used.

I have it on my MX-6, nice toy but useless on a day to day basis.

If we had the large open spaces of Canada to drive in things might be different.:D

Would actually prefer to be without. Suggest the car is a cruiser which it is not (if, as TG pointed out, one could cruise).

Agree it would be a waste of time in the UK.

Ive had it on several cars in the past and never used it.

I havent seen a picture of a steering wheel without the cruise option though.

Aha!

If you look at the interior picture in this thread:

http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3076

you'll notice that the cruise control switches on the wheel are gone. This must be a production vehicle! Also, the controls behind the gearstick are different. Interesting...

I think you'll find they would have mentioned it by now if we were getting it. It's an American thing really!
