you can't, it's part of the whole console, it's painted plastic and not metal.

that yelloy is really awful looking (too bright) and going to be impossible to maintain.

The MS carbon fiber is a stick on, thus don't require you to remove the original one.

Believe the Mazdaspeed CF part is a full replacement piece and not a stick-on, which is why it's so spendy.

I damaged the gray radiused piece that sits outboard of the ashtray while changing out my single-disc CD player for the multi disc, and had to remove the entire assembly that Manok is asking about. Looks alarming when you first examine the drawings for the procedure, but today's snap-together car assembly technology makes it pretty easy.

Basically, you start by removing the rear luggage pass-through piece and work your way forward. PM me if you really want the procedure. I may still have the shop manual excerpts around somewhere.

Well, it looks to be just a mock up, but if one were to paint the top of the instrument cluster yellow like that, the reflection into the windshield would make the car near impossible to drive during the day.

Check this thread for instructions. I beleive they are in four pieces and these come off with the instrcutions for removing the center console. Not as hard as it looks.
