I installed the Tein Htechs yesterday and as of right now when I measure the gaps the right side of the car is sitting about 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch higher than the left. What could be causing this?

Not sure if yours is supposed to be that way though. AF-RX8 05-30-2004, 11:35 AM Our cars are normally lower on the driver's side then the Passengers side. I've noticed it on mine as well as many others. It could be a number of reasons like. Check this link to someone else who brought this up ... http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19124 My 330i & 330Ci both were lower on the right side then the left because the battery was stored onthe right rear side of the car in the trunk. My 2nd Gen Eclipse Conv had a lean to it, if I remember right it was on the left and that was because the engine was mounted slight to the left from the center of the car I haven't checked out the RX8 throughly enough to know why it leans but no doubt it's normal. mlino01 06-01-2004, 12:16 AM Might want to check that the springs are seated corectly and that the front was preloaded before tightening the the shock unit. XeRo 06-01-2004, 11:20 AM Dude..i saw your springs at BS when I was there Fri night...i'm getting the S.Techs... it will probably even out as time goes on...but definitely check on what mlino mentions above.. mikeb 06-01-2004, 07:47 PM I have the eibach springs and my passenger side is a tad higher Kel Rx8 06-01-2004, 09:43 PM s tech probably wont even out funny shit is i thought i was the only one.my driver side is lower and i wish the other side was the same.me and my friend were lost on this and i thought the install was wrong but really what could of been installed wrong.anyway so the 2 rear shocks are different ? i know one of my stock shocks say tokico. i got the measuring stick out and noticed a .25 on a inch higher on passenger side.not that noticeable but i notice it and some friends do.damn i knew i should of done coilover.errrrrrrr God of Thunder 06-02-2004, 10:54 AM Mine are now settled at and the front passenger side sits 1/8 inch or less higher than the drivers side. The rear passenger side sits about 1/4 inch higher than the drivers side. I'm going to measure my friends stock set up and see what it is. Kel Rx8 06-03-2004, 02:13 PM mine did when stock height. ScudRunner 06-05-2004, 08:40 PM i have RB springs and notice the same thing...driver side sits lower...nice to hear it's not just my phat ass that's causing it... Kel Rx8 06-06-2004, 01:31 AM i noticed it when i got the car but never said anything after the stech i knew something was weird. so the shocks are different then on rear does anyone know ? for instance model # on stock ones ? MrWigggles 06-15-2004, 02:55 PM I have the same problem. I have stock springs and struts Passenger side: MrWigggles 06-15-2004, 02:56 PM Driver side FLIPPED TO KEEP THE PICTURES SIMILAR MrWigggles 06-15-2004, 02:59 PM There is definitely a noticeable difference in the rear. I would say almost an inch visually. FWIW, my car in the pictures has hardly anything in it and about 1/4 tank of gas. Oh, and I have never been in an accident or hopped a curb etc. I would like a solution to this problem. -Mr. Wigggles Ps. EDIT: Just measured and the driver's side is 1/2 inch lower than the passenger at the rear of the vehicle. |
