Now, so were all clear, These are the Japan type "a" parts. they are for a Right Hand drive car !!! ..
now that we all understand that.. dont let that stop you from getting them.. They work great on a Left hand drive. you just have to use them in reverse. :)

Be preparid to drill holes in your door panel ! right on top of you speaker. and also in your center tunnel plastic..

Place the first piece the bigger one on the center tunnel plastic. Make sure that it is posisitioned so that it will not keep you from removing the center console unit.

mark your holes with a black sharpie.. that way if you mess up there harder to see :) but you can still see them to drill .. Yes Drill
you can take off your console and drill these holes. OR you can do like i did and very carfully drill them with the peice in place. NOw i have removed this peice and am very aware of what was behind it! So its up to you. The Japan instructions tell you to remove the whole console..

Drill 3 holes

the 2 holes on the same side gets these little push in inserts.
the Single hole side gets a bolt and a nut to help form it to the shape of the plastic

thew

the bolt has a nut you can reach around with your fingers and get started. 7mm

thew

now mount the pad backing using 1 bolt, and 2 of the inserts that came with the set.

thew

peal off the sticky tape and slip the pad over the backing unit.. apply pressure to adhear the tape

thew

finished one side now we do the door side

thew

The Door side is a little harder.. First you have to deciede where to put the pad. Then you have to be extreamly careful when you drill because one of the holes is right over the Speaker.
So again.. the instructions that i cannot read :) tell you in pictures :) to remove the door panel.. However again i did it the faster yet more dangerous way :)

Look at where the holes are .. one of them is just barley missing the switch cover for the windows and locks. The other one is right over the speaker ! The 3rd is in a perfect place.. just plastic

Peal the tape and apply the cover

They Work Great! fit my legs just right.. now my right leg can lean on the pad and my ankel stays straight. the left leg can rest against the left pad when my foot is on the foot rest ! :)

And someone told me I could not do this !!!!

Enjoy.

yes.. I did them both at the same time.. took me about 1 hour to do them both.. I love the E-Brake handle it is really a very nice touch... The Knee pads are a must for a tall person.

Trying to get the 8 ready for a Road trip to the Grand Canyon..
I will install a dvd player under the passenger seat tommorw. and I will install the 6 disk oem player as well. Then i just have the Clear Bra and the debadgeng next week :)

i can wait for the debadging.. The Clear BRa is going to run me about 2k . I am doing most of the car :)

Has anyone else tried the kneepad install? Or know of any others available out on the market besides the MS ones?

Thew, 2k for the Clear Bra seems kind of steep…..at least for my area. My local shop (DC Metro Area) uses LLumar www.llumar.com and quoted me a price of $843.90 for the entire front façade (hood section, light covers, front nose, lower air dam, side mirrors). I am not sure the entire difference between the Clear Bra and LLumar products but for almost $1,150.00 there better be something.

I am doing most of the car.. your quote and rocker panels. Doors entire Doors, REar finder roll, rear bumpar, Spoiler, front area of roof. :)

and i think Clear Bra is a thicker product, but it requiers a bath in 3m 303 every 6 months. or it will crack and turn white !..

But thats easyer than wax : )

and also its being done in L.A. the rip off capitol of the world :)
