hi, i was curious about which big brake kit to get on the rx8. I want the brembo front set, but i do not know the appropriate size... Can anyone tell me the size/model of the brembo, or stoptech big brake FRONT kit...?

Can i put any brake calipers on the 8... as long as i have a spacer? Help!

Stoptech

You cannot fit any calipers onto your car. Some calipers will fit with your stock wheels, while others will require larger wheel sizes and/or special caliper clearances/special offset wheels. those Grex brakes are sweet!

With the great B-R-A-K-E performance of the RX-8 and repeated reviews stating they don't fade under hard use... Why upgrade? Why not just upgrade the tires which are the limiting factor and change the brake fluid to a higher temp one if it makes you feel better? Bling? Money to burn?

I can tell you that out on the track the pedal is just too soft. I didn't experience any fade but after driving an EVO with it's factory Brembo's, brakes are at the top of my list for replacement. Of course for street driving the stock brakes are perfectly fine. Now if one of these companies make a kit that fits with the stock wheels I'll write a check today.

Try running Sebring with a stock brake with Porterfield R4 pads. Cooked the living hell out of them. Upgrading to slotted and drilled Rotora and Hawk blue pads. Also going one step higher to AP600 fluid from the ATE that went in by mistake. I think the stock calipers will do fine with the heat dispersion of the drilled and slotted rotors. Its a compromise, but a money saving one.

Drilled rotors create less heat capacity and hot spots where they tend to crack, they're for looks only (IMO)

I highly recommend StopTech for any car you care to put them on. Good design, good customer support. They are very honest and will tell you upgrading the rear brakes would be for cosmetics only. Most people who upgrade the fronts are doing it for cosmetics too but that's another story. (I installed StopTechs in my BMW after doing a couple track events but have yet to get back on a track with the car. So until then I fall into the latter category as well. :) )
