View Full Version : Put In my 2 Week Notice
PoLaK 05-25-2004, 10:35 PM Firstly I'd like to thank all of you who have purchased any of the products I make, you have made such an important change in my life it’s immeasurable.
I've worked as a Wegmans Quality Food Market Coordinator for nearly 2 and 1/2 years now and today after about 5 months of deliberation decided it was time to quit.
Decal and Polo Shirt orders have become constant enough that I can build an inventory, continue to come out with new products, make the car/insurance payment + GAS!, and other entertainment expenses. Thanks to All who made ^this possible.
Most importantly im doing something I like to do, and I promise to bring you guys more great stuff to buy.
Now just don't let me down!
And for those that think it unwise well it may be, but maybe this sums it up best, I don't wanna be 40 thinking I was never 17.
- Mark

Being 35, I think you're absolutely right and wish I had your insight at 17. To try and fail is better than never having tried at all. You seem pretty sharp and since you've already tested the waters and know what you're getting into, you'll be fine. Best of fortune to you.
Lock & Load 05-25-2004, 11:21 PM polak

Congrats on your venture .
cheers
michael

PaulieWalnuts 05-25-2004, 11:32 PM I thought you were already employed by Polak as a model...
guy321 05-25-2004, 11:34 PM Since you're doing so well, I'm going to need some of that to support my broken ankle. I'll be sending some associates to collect 60% of your earnings in the morning.
J/k
Good going, good luck!

PoLaK 05-26-2004, 12:30 AM ah ok it was a shippment to Austrailla that i lost money on, 8 bucks allows for only a little bit.

mamccubbin 05-26-2004, 12:51 AM Good for you! Like others have said, now is the time in your life when you can take chances like this. If it only lasts a few months, great, you've learned something. If it lasts years and years, even better.
Best of luck.

:D

guy321 06-02-2004, 02:49 PM Unless it will earn you twice as much in the near to medium term!!!

Or worse... 40 and thinking you ARE still 17 (raises hand), lol...
Unwise? Not at all. You've taken a calculated risk. Even if the venture doesn't pan out as you hope (though I bet it will), you're obviously a smart kid, and the risk is/was worth it to you.
Good for you. I wish you the best :)
poolsidenaz 06-02-2004, 03:16 PM In that case... can we get a really cool but clean looking RX8Club.com tshirt? :D Something with a clean emblem on the left breast pocket area and then maybe a fun type of *clean* looking RX8 graphic on the back? I'll buy 2-3 myself  But enough about me...congrats PoLaK. You're 17; nothing wrong with quitting a job to persue something else right now. You're sticking with school and fully intend to still pay for your 8 and it's expenses. Ain't nuthin wrong with that!!
Inconsequential 06-02-2004, 05:01 PM Hmmm... how long until he is checking all the car sites making products for all of them too?
Then he can get Hitmann to whore some shirts and vinyls to the 350's and G35's and other such places too, hehe
I give him a month or less until he hits them up too :)
PoLaK 06-02-2004, 08:30 PM haha how to introduce myself on 350zforum.com "hi im a rx8 owner ... see i made these vinyls for the rx8...." BANNED!
Shocka 06-02-2004, 08:44 PM good luck dude.. been tryna do business with ya... but ima just a hard man to work with im LAZY!

That is awesome man. No regrets! Good luck to you!
Inconsequential 06-03-2004, 02:23 AM Well, gotta be some open minded owners of other cars that appreciate a good product.
Plus, introducing it to other avenues will increase revenue, which will allow for more mods to your car :)
Inconsequential 06-03-2004, 02:24 AM Or maybe make a few designs, then show design ideas to other forums to get them interested, couldnt hurt, might take a little time, but you have a lot more of that now :)
Neddie Seagoon 06-03-2004, 08:22 PM Good for you, Mark! Always best to go out on a limb while you are still young enough to climb the tree!!
SiMplyBluE 06-04-2004, 08:10 AM All the best with your business! Its great to see you take this initiative at this age and I'm sure you'll do well! :)
