Like to get Texans who preordered to give their location , when they ordered, any mail from Mazda and any other info pertaining to their order.....

I'm in Austin. Ordered on January 8th. Got the standard "your order has been submitted" email from Mazda on 2/12.

I'm in Houston. Ordered on January 9th. Got the "your order has been submitted" email from Mazda on 2/12.

Ordered from same dealer (in Austin) as eccles..........

I'm order at Mazda South in Austin also. Orderer 1/9/03 also got 1 confirmation e-mail from Mazda/

I'm in Dallas, preodered on 1/28/03, got the confirmation on 2/12 also.

I ordered 1st week of January, got an email with the following text on 2/21. This does not say my order was confirmed, only submitted. Did y'all get something more specific than this?

Preordered today from Mazda North in Austin. From what I've been told, my car is one from the first schedule that the dealer had already spec'd out. Its a good thing I wanted it loaded ;-) Supposed to get confirmation email tomorrow.

I received the following on 3/19/03:
Great news! The factory has accepted and confirmed your order for your all-new 2004 Mazda RX-8--a sports car like no other. Next, the factory will assign your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and begin production on your Mazda RX-8. We will send you a notification email with the VIN when that occurs--sometime in the next 1-3 months.

In the meantime, please visit the web site's gallery to view the latest Mazda RX-8 photos, 360o views and more.

I am in Houston (recently moved from NJ). I pre-ordered on Jan 8th but said I cannot pick up the car until late July or August timeframe, so I was put into the 2nd allocation group. I received the same e-mail as Boowana in mid-March.
