Well, unlike the ass that was TROY, shrek 2 was really well done...not as good as the original, but not far off at all...and puss n boots is so good he should get his own movie!
Highly recomended

Maybe they're just following formula. many of the jokes were aimed at adults, my son wasn't very happy with the later part of the movie though since... he went to watch shrek, not other stuff. I give it two thumbs up, but this is another case of the sequel failing to be as great as the original. NoVa 05-20-2004, 09:06 PM I personally loved the movie. I wasnt expecting it to be better than the first one. I would have liked it to be a little longer, but all and all i recommended it to my friends 241Commuter 05-22-2004, 09:30 PM We saw Shrek 2 today. If you liked Shrek, you'll probably like this. Same thing - a steady diet of fractured fairy tales, lots of satire, some rich pot-shots at the culture of Hollywood which are very much on the mark being essentially a Hollywood production. Eddie Murphy still steals the show with his obnoxious donkey. Unlike Shrek where everything was novel, this time it had the freshness of yesterday's pizza. It no longer carries the surprise of a bittersweet twist to classic fairy tell story telling. Still, not money wasted, and heck, we're still passing for seniors. Hope they don't do a Shrek 3 - we are deep into the zone of diminishing returns. Aratinga 05-23-2004, 12:36 AM I saw it last night at the CineramaDome in, of course, Hollywood (where the dome is currently completely swathed in green and adorned with giant ogre ears). The scenes of Far Far Away had the audience in stitches with all of the inside references to real landmarks and cultural icons in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and even Disneyland. It's a shame that people who don't live here and know the area will miss those jokes. I personally thought that Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots) stole the show. The hairball scene is hysterical, but again -- you need to have a cat to get it. HiTMaNN 05-23-2004, 03:36 AM i liked it my girl took me too it and hehe it was good! little to many kids running around the place tho and crying and shit Smoker 05-23-2004, 08:03 AM Great movie, funny from start to finish. 241Commuter 05-23-2004, 04:10 PM Originally posted by bernieunger Hope they don't do a Shrek 3 - we are deep into the zone of diminishing returns. OK, what do I know? Shrek 2 did about $125.3 on opening weekend. There is no way there won't be a Shrek 3. Hold on there while I cough up a fur ball. Shocka 05-23-2004, 04:43 PM i saw it opening nite and thought it was great!!! puss in boots was amazing and like previously meniotned should get his own movie! RXcellr8 05-23-2004, 10:06 PM I have to agree .. puss in boots was unmatched. Close second was the one chick in the barn.... the one that had nothing to rub!! spdspappy 05-24-2004, 03:59 PM I thought it was great! It's hard to beat the first, so I wasn't expecting that. I thought some parts were a bit much for kids (even w/o the things that were way over their heads "it's not mine"). mysql101 05-24-2004, 04:24 PM artist rendering of shrek3 HiTMaNN 05-25-2004, 02:03 AM wow whoever that dude is needs a life... wanting to look like shrek yah what a lady killer |
